Hi all... I will getting my car in April, trying to find out more about the different types of PPS... Have short listed a few like

1) New age Polish

2) Ceramic Pro

3) Opti-shine,

but I m open to any other options...

Would appreciate if anyone can share their experience and whether its value for money in your opinion... Thks in advance!

Can strike off opti shine if you ask me again.

From personal experience, top end product can't even last for a year.

PPS will not protect you from scratches.. water marks will still be there esp during this period of frequent rain.

Best is to do a not so expensive one and then do PPS on an annual basis..

SE said no more GPS units from their agent Garmin, deduct $800.

Freebies: No camera but give stainless cargo step and car mat.

Thanks for the infos..

1 piece of the mat should be enough as the heel pad is rather thick. 2 additional mats might be a bit risky like therock pointed out.

BTW, the additional mats given by SE is pretty good, better than those 3A mats I bought from carousell for my previous car. First the mat has very little or almost no nasty smell. I aired my carousell mats for 3 days and it still stinks. Second is the heel pad is placed correctly on the mat. My heel is placed almost at the edge of the pad on my previous mats.

I think the SE got them from a standard source together with the Nissan cars SE. My 3 other colleagues who bought Nissan cars at the same time as me also got similar mats and with no smell too. If you have not book your ride yet, do ask for the mats from your SE and ask for one additional piece for the driver side (as spare) as it normally wears out faster than the rest. I didn't ask for one back then, too late now.

Be careful as different SE may get their mat from different source unless it is a standard freebie provided by MI for the SE to give out.

Even the same SE may give out different freebie mat at different times.

Best to also check the material is non flammable type. The proper 3M mats are non flammable. The one my SE gave me was flammable. Had cut a small sample to test.

Hi, is there anyone using 0W20 engine oil on our Forester NA?Saw from USA forester manual that their 2.5 NA is recommended to use 0W20 oil. At MI, 5W30 was used. Thinking to evaluate thinner oil after 10k service.

What does your manual say? Follow your manual's recommendations.

Anyone interested to purchase chrome handles for Forester XT model, I had ordered extra sets.pls pm me.

I assume it fits well for local right-hand-drive XT ( and have customised gap in the driver door handle to allow for touch sensor locking) . Good to know what's the cost like for consideration . Thanks

Anyone who is buying or booking their rides and installing in car camera, ask them to install Cellink B battery for 24x7 recording.

MI don't install Power Magic Pro, without it your camera will turn off once you turn off your car.

Although if you insist they will install Power Magic Pro at expense of your battery warranty but if you ask them to Install Cellink B it will not void your battery warranty.

MI installed on my 1 month old XT yesterday and i don't drive a lot but Cellink B was able to keep the camera up throughout the night.

Just thought to share as i had bad experience in past of someone hitting my car while it was parked and damaging the number plate and front bumper. Try to have it done at MI, as they are very anal about electronics warranty also.

May not be due to wiper. Do you wash your car with wax based shampoo. This could be the cause. Also any water repellent stuff applied to the windscreen like Rain-x may also cause wiper stuttering.

For those who can't justify paying 500-800 for PPS, I have (a lot 70%) leftover from my DIY job. Enough for 3-4 coats (I did 2 coats)

Ultra version, better than hyper and super in the market.

Trade for 10 cups starbucks coffee  [laugh]

Yah, I bought B6 (which is expensive than B3 and can stay alive longer per charge).

I think it was around 345 including labour + GST, and you can take breakfast there while waiting (they have tea/coffee and some sweet breads).

I think it would be compatible with iroad v9 if i am not wrong (because all camera pull same voltage from battery).

I think pps is about the same. Unless you stay there for the full 4 hours, you'll never know exactly how many layers they do.

I went for blacknano. It's cheaper than the competition, and it works. Bird shit comes off easily, water repelling is good.

My car is white so I don't see the shine.

Mind sharing the price? Thanks.

Others under consideration are:

1. Amazing Glaze (538)

2. QMI Toughguard (599)

3. Sonax Nano (600)

Trying to source for cheaper ones...
