i think it's a combination of both factors

the boot gets pretty warm when under the sun. cos it is mostly an enclosed space with no AC.

to create so much ethylene must be really a huge soursop

You'd be surprised how potent a buildup of ethylene is in an enclosed space. One of the quickest ways to ripen bananas is to enclose them in a paper bag - to let in oxygen but keep in ethylene.

But I'm not sure what effect the heat would have, so it could be both.

maybe heat or humidity speeds up the build up of ethylene?

I used to be involved in the transport of bananas from south Philippines to Japan, Korea and china... the fruit producers had it down to an exact science!

I think heat plays a major part. Otherwise, fruit traders won't be cold storaging their fruits - example some apples are "frozen" in large batches together and probably release for sale half a year later.

Yah most fruit i put in refrigerator would ripen slowly but if i leave outside will ripen faster

I went on a tour to Java when i was in primary 5-6.

The mangos i had there were extremely shiok. Better than thai mangos actually.

I went to mount bromo, as well as borobudur.

I used to love mangos. but i like sour ones.

But now i find mangos very heaty for the last few years. Eat a few sure kana lip ulcers... zzz [dead]<_<

U western med trained; still believed in 'heatiness'?

Frequent Mouth ulcers can also be due to deficiency in certain essential bodily elements.

Forgot to add on that most services are low cost; eg., my 2 hrs Javanese massage was Rp120 000 (abt SGD 12). Clean & no frills, suited me fine.

I do actually.

I virtually stopped eating mangos and lychee or Longan. Cos they do tend to give me mouth ulcers. They are all fruits I grew up eating.
