When I booked the 1.4 L, Golf was offered at $121k. I just received SMS from VW.

"7 units of older stocks Golf 1.4 EQP going for clearance sale now at $118300 nett. No more further discount. It will be advertised tomorrow. This weekend will be crowded with the latest quota announcement".

How much to add on for the Intellilux LED?

If I hear correctly, should be SGD5K to add IntelliLux LED and AGR Wellness seats. Only available from Nov 2016 onwards.

Do correct me if I am wrong.

I am not an expert too.

But to my preference and understanding.

Stock Headunit usually not so good.

Scenario

1. Change speaker only. Usually stock speaker is paper cone. Some people just change front 2 speakers and add tweeter. Sound already improve. Cost lower too , warranty likely will not be void.

Or

2. Add Digital Sound Processor + Amplifier , change 4 speakers , add tweeter and add under seat woofer ( believe Astra boot not that big for woofer. ) more expensive , warranty might be void.

No amp , put woofer is abit meaningless. This is just my opinion with my limited experience.

Oh lastly, your music source must be good, no point spend so much on ICE and play a lousy MP3 file.

They call it rubbish in, rubbish out.

If we change Headunit, does it means the Apple car play function gone?

Managed to drive the Astra 1.4.

Interior looks really very classy with high quality built. Above my expectations. Still too bad the infotainment is 7". 8" will really be perfect but oh well [:p]

It's a powerful and quiet drive even with a total of 4 pax in the car. [thumbsup]

I feel that the audio is good enough. 6 speakers confirmed but not sure of the brand.

IntelliLux LED not available but able to add on. No Park assist as well.

Overall very good I must say even though interior can be a little smaller than my current ride; Altis.

Cheers

6 speakers? I was trying to find where the 2 tweeters were located. Any idea where they are?

Tried looking in the showroom car

Any new opel driver(collected car can share the driving) can share around like driving habit, fuel consumption, easy go up to 100km , uphill slope ...etc

I'm driving the 1.4T

0-100 pretty effortless

Mainly city driving

Didn't really take note of the fc as I usually pump petrol every sun irregardless of the balance petrol left, avg I clock abt 14km/l I estimate. I travels around 350km a week. Pump Esso 5000, spends around $40+ abit every sun.. Don't really take note of the price per liter as no matter what price, we still gotta pump right?

What I like abt the car,

very willing to rev engine

Turbo kicks in early

Featured packed

Value for money

Good rear space legroom

Eye turner at times

What I don't like,

Not much aft market accessory

Current resale value not there

No electric & memory seat

Servicing only at Ubi

I don't really mod car type of guy, but if exhaust sound abit bassy, I think I like that idea

6 speakers? I was trying to find where the 2 tweeters were located. Any idea where they are?

Tried looking in the showroom car

2 speakers back (at the passenger doors)

2 speakers front (at the front doors)

2 speakers (should be the tweeters located in front on each side of the dashboard, just under the windscreen)

Some 3rd party Headunit support that too.

Suggestion is do not change Headunit. If really want to change, just change speakers first.

To my understanding, ppl change HU because pioneer or alpine HU digital sound processing is better than stock HU.

But nobody know how good Astra DSP is , and whether you are sensitive enough to tell the sound difference. So may not worth it.

Music is sometimes like TV. If u r not the sensitive type, you can't tell the difference, only when you hear a demo or see a TV demo. Then u can tell.

Example, my tv always looks good, only when I am at courts or best denki, I saw my model next to other brands then I realize the difference, but once I go home. My TV still looks awesome. Haha

Does the Astra STourer have any other engine other than 1.0t. 1.4t or diesel perhaps?

ST 1.4 is coming in @ $124,888 guaranteed 6 bids Coe. Price is valid till next Coe bidding

Test drive currently unavailable.

Weight difference between Astra K & ST is below 20kg.. Power wise won't be much difference, but handling might feels some difference due to the length of vehicle.

Hope it helps...

Dear fellow Astra lovers,

Saw the Astra 1.4 and I love it. Very interested in this car and joined this forum to learn more from you all [:)]

Understand that not all the things listed in the Opel Singapore website are available to us. Any kind souls to confirm this?

1) No Paddle Shifters (correct, Gear change via +- is avail)

2) No Electric and Memory seat for Driver and Passenger (correct. But Driver seat has lumbar support)

3) No Rear Aircon (correct)

4) Six premium speakers (Anyone can confirm how many speakers for Astra 1.4? Any brand?) (4 speakers & 2 tweeter, brand need to find out)

5) Infotainment is 8" or 7" colour touchscreen? R4.0 IntelliLink only available in 7" right? (8", intellilink comes as standard)

6) Android Auto available? (Car support ready, but app no ready. Need a bit more time and we are working on it)

7) No AGR wellness seat right? (Optional add on, must pre order and comes together with the car from factory, OMV will increase)

8) IntelliLux LED available? (Same answer as Q7)

Apologies for the noob questions as this will be my first conti car if I commit :D Very excited to go test drive the Astra 1.4 and feel the power!

Thank you!

Hope my answer helps..

I was very attracted to the Golf EQP and its offered price. But the rear is really cramp and appear very awkward for 3 adult. Especially the middle guy, imagine rear aircon blowing at his/her  [lipsrsealed]  [lipsrsealed]  [lipsrsealed] . I test drove the Astra and the rest are history.
