100k actually not exorbitant. Simple ID renovation nowadays can easily come up to 50k on average.

This one surely more than 100k ! Nowadays owner can really splurge on reno. Look at the kitchen and concealed toilet(power room).

People nowadays really cash rich, can splurge on reno lo. Cause huge part of the reno fees you need to pay in cash, bank’s renovation loan is capped at $30k only lo. Dont know why people have so much hard cash on hand?

I think the reality is a lot of people has higher earning capacity now. Thus having more funds on hand to make available for many things.

And also more logical since these ppl are buying expensive hdb meaning they have higher earning power and usually higher spending power also

but what is reported in the news is also just one of hundreds/thousands of Reno done.

Not everyone have the budget to spend 100k on Reno but many are willing to spend.

If this kind of reno also need to take loan then not very cash rich la.

True, dont think many can afford to spend 100k on reno, maybe not even 80k reno. Whenever they report on such reno, it might give a wrong impression to people that many people can afford such expensive reno.

when this kind of clickbait video reports $100K reno ... the actual cost smelly smelly $120K++ ...

if the reno stay for 10 years ... that's $12K depreciation per annum .... [jawdrop]

+maintenance and upkeep ... sure > $12K/pa

If the HDB can sell more than $1m next time, maybe still can recoup back some money spent on reno?

This owner so rich? Spent $1m to buy this HDB and spent another $100k for reno? 😲 😲 😲

With skyrocketing property prices, quite the norm now. Mil$ hdb(s) are sprouting up everywhere.

Which also means the pool of hdb upgraders is ballooning = even more demand to PTE 😉
