Hi new byd m6 owner, collecting my car next month. I want to check if the IU unit can be placed on the driver's side instead of the passenger side I'm referring to the device that is placed at the bottom which is near the knee area thank you

Anything the market wants, ah tiong will produce for you. But I am impress, it means most of those others without a frunk can now be created.  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Went to byd showroom.

Frunk 3rd party costs around 200+ supposedly. But the SE warned first that no warranty issue BUT every 20k servicing needs to remove it which incurs a labour cost of 100+ each time.

Carbonedge edition comes with 2  tone paint (black with any other color), frunk and something else.

I'm guessing if it's a carbonedge edition, they won't charge you for the labour.

Drove wrongly into BMW building when heading to byd showroom at Alexandra. Thought they were one big building with some connection. Haha had to drive out.

The b2 carpark is listed as visitor parking but it's stuffed with byds waiting for collection. Until like maybe only few lots available for visitors lol. Front of building also unloading SL7.

There are now 3 blue and 1 white M6 in the same MSCP, in addition to 2 e6. Getting very common now. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I will compare the freed and m6 in more detail later in the next 1-2 days.

Roughly same price point around 16k depreciation as of current price.

I only like the blue though my preference is for lighter colors to reduce Collison risk at night. It has a longer wait time compared to other colors according to the SE.

I test drove the m6 and I didn’t like it at all. Granted it’s a use no frills point A to B car. When I floor the pedal, it feel like a high powered golf cart.

Have to say it has very light steering with no weight or accuracy behind it.

It's move off is sluggish I feel. But I was trying to feather it since I'm not familiar with EVs and the byd test drive route is ultra short.

Yeah, I test drove it 2 weeks ago and I was really giving it a thought, considering that my boys are growing up and I might need the space.

Then the SA was telling me how good EV /M6 is. Upon knowing my current ride, she suddenly told me that it’s her dream car and wondered why there was even a consideration.

very strange test drive, and yeah, the route is too short

Imo.

Pay attention the Freed middle row feel like floor board very high,  end up knees lifted up not very comfortable,  plus the seat itself also not good for long ride.

The driver seat definitely M6 better experience.

But the 3rd row easy to fold up for boot space. Assuming only occasionally need 3rd row type, nice feature.

Back in Feb period, iirc Freed is  at least june to Aug delivery due to very few units made available to sg. Want to book must make sure timing.

Did check out this car before  I find many plastics on the dashboard........hard to accept that.  Other than that,  it is quite a nice car for the price.

I also sat in one as a passenger in SG a few days ago when I called for Grab.  Pretty comfortable behind. no complains.

For b&b category. The interior trim and finish is decent.

My Elantra has way more hard plastics.

If compare to mazda etc then not that good.

The freeds interior is also very simple and more functional.

Both floor heights I feel are not very far off. The freed seats more like a bench but more cushion compared to prev generation.

But yes the taller you are the more you feel the height of the floor.
