Turbocharged

Looks like they retained the tacky guitar strings and added an oddly protruding speaker on the door..

I think that is Atto 3 Evo, the latest 2026 Yuan Plus (Atto 3) has changed: (no Gym, no guitar string)

I don't even epxect above model will come to SG, unless BYD skip the Atto 3 Evo.

Would skip the Evo version and wait for the Blade Battery 2.0 version of the Atto 3. It's a much better ride.

No more funky interior compared to the older version.

Over the causeway, BYD is going to release the new version of the Atto 3 as per FB post below.

Its going to be released on 5-May-2026 in Malaysia, so this will be the facelifted Atto 3 2026 version. In Europe, it's called the Atto 3 Evo and in China its the 2nd generation Yuan Plus. Outside dimensions of the 2nd generation Atto 3 remain the same as the 1st generation. See picture below.

For RHD markets such as Malaysia, there's going to be two versions. Premium and Ultra.

Atto 3 Premium.

(1) New drivetrain. It's going to be Rear Wheel Drive (RWD), compared to the Front Wheel Drive (FWD) of the 1st generation Atto 3.

Power has increased to 230kW (+80kW more than the 1st generation).

Torque is up (+70Nm compared to 1st generation) to 380Nm

Century sprint is faster at 5.5 seconds. -1.8 seconds faster than 1st generation

(2) Battery capacity. It's bigger at 74.88kWhr (+14.4kWhr more than the 1st generation). Driving range has also increased accordingly.

Driving range: 510km (WLTP) which is +90km more than the 1st generation. The battery chemistry remains the same at LFP, but using the older Blade 1.0 battery in a 800V architecture. This resulted in better charging speeds.

AC charge rate: 11kW (+4.4kW more than the 1st generation)

DC charge rate: 205kW (+105kW more than 1st generation)

(3) Comes with a 101L front trunk! More space available compared to no front trunk in the 1st generation model.

(4) Enhanced Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS). Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB), and Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC).

(5) Dual zone climate control.

External changes include a new front bumper.

Rear has a new spoiler with integrated split top taillights.

For the interior, BYD has retained the model’s infamous “guitar strings” deco on the door as well as grip-style door handles and air conditioning vents.

So if you didn't like the interior design of the 1st generation Atto 3 before, it's not going to please you with new interior design of the 2nd generation. However, the dashboard has changed a bit. It's a bit more modern with new steering wheel, column mounted gear selector and a larger driver's display of 8.8" (+3.8" more than the 1st generation). The 15.6" infotainment display is still there, but can no longer rotate as BYD finally figured out that no one uses the display in portrait mode.

Will see what the price is for 2nd generation Atto 3 in Malaysia. The 1st generation Atto 3 is at RM123,800.

Overall, the 2nd generation Atto 3 is much better than the current 1st generation unit. Will see when Sime Darby and Vantage Auto decides to bring it over the shores of Singapore.
