Actually the TB coolant is to heat up so that it wouldn't freeze ... our weather doesn't requires the heating up .. if we cool it down too much, might defeat the purpose rite...

Alternatively, blow cold air into the air box ;-)

Heard one mech told me that the coolant in the TB is to "Cool" it down instead of "Heat" it up. It will become very hot if no coolant flow into the TB. So, Who's thoery is right, getting [confused][confused] so don't dare to do it!

Hmm .. that's anyway to think of it ... but then .. from most reading .. it says it's meant for preventing throttlebody freezing leh

andrewkb is right, the coolant is use to heat up the throttle body to prevent freezing in the cold country but the side effect would be in the cold morning start, you might encounter hard starting or erratic idling for a short moment once in a while....

Read somewhere that for Hyundai cars anyway, there a "sensor" spring that needs to coolant to heat it up, else always give rich mixture till the surrounding air heats it up.

Waste fuel [thumbsdown] .

Just informational.

Hard starting unlikely, because anyway before the engine starts, the whole engine bay is stone COLD !

As for longer warm up .. probably

Thanks. I'm going to give it a try this weekend and monitor the temp see got any diff. I'm only worry about cold start when in Genting, local climate should have any problem like what AndrewKB mentioned.

Yeah, this is what the mech told me that some car have sensor to monitor the coolant temp in the TB. Anyway, will try it out to find out!
