I asked the pros already. I also needed to reset ECU.

YES, disconnect the HVS +ve first, then take out the battery -ve to rest ECU. [thumbsup]

Normally disconnect the -ve terminal of battery and wait 5 minutes, 20 minutes to be sure.

Then connect back.

Radio and clock reset also.

Another method is to locate the fuse for the radio and clock and take it out for a few minutes. You may find this more convenient than disconnecting the battery.

One of the knobs is +ve , the other is -ve.

Take out whatever cables is connected to the -ve knob.

Look on the battery marking, it's there.

normally what i do is remove the -ve from the batt, plug out the "ECU" fuse from its socket. Wait for 2mins. install everything back then start the car w/o radio and A/c and let it idle for 5mins then turn off the engine(pulling out the key) and start engine again.

before that i will also warm the engine to ops temp.

i "learn" this from a toyota guy many years ago. dunno if this method still applies today?

Comments anyone?

Hi, have u heard of removing the fuse for ECU? 'cos it might be a dated method of resetting the ECU and am afraid it might result to side effects. sweatdrop.gif

I installed HVS without resetting.. so the steps are? Correct me if wrong:

1) Remove +ve of HVS (but leave the +ve of batt and -ve of HVS intact?)

2) Remove -ve of batt and wait 5-10min

3) Connect back -ve of batt

4) Connect back +ve of HVS (assuming HVS -ve still on)

5) Zoom zoom and fly!! tongue.gif

hope i don't sound anal tongue.giftongue.gifsweatdrop.gif
