Kiatmobile 1st Gear November 3, 2003 Share November 3, 2003 Hi, Went to TLW over the weekend and was encourage to fixed CAI(Cold Air-Intake). According to her, this will save fuel consumption and is a MUST for Matrix. But, i've fixed the PowerJet just two months ago and now the fuel still in-consistance. So, did not fixed the CAI though her encouragement did not really move me. I've shown the shop owner on her recommendation of PowerJet and that she's now having on trial too. Its as good as trial and error. So, have to monitor further now again. Frankly speaking, to me, all modification are not realise at all. Its all the mind set and once its phyco, you go for it. That's haow i feel. So, weather it save fuel on the modification and items, its all up in your mind.

Staromega Neutral Newbie November 22, 2003 Share November 22, 2003 Would like to add-on; for the high Fuel consumption of matrix, in my opinion it is still worth it and the following will illustrate, 1. if my current fuel expenditure is approx. 120 per month for a car with a mileage efficient of 13km per litre. 2. Assume that fuel go up 50% after switching to Matrix, that translate to additional of S$60 per month or S$720 per year or S$3,600 for 5 years (basis of 5 years becos most will sell around that time). 3. If compare Toyota Corrolla car price (1.5 XLI ?) with Matrix, there is a price gap of approx. S$10,000, then the lost in higher Fuel consumption (S$3,600) of Matrix can be easily off-set from the car price, isn't it. 4. Of course both vehicle is not the same built, but just want to make clear the conception that high fuel consumption is the only consideration for "value for money". May the forces be with you

Guyver 1st Gear January 23, 2004 Share January 23, 2004 Recently bought an 8 month old Matrix (black)1.6A. Like the car so far. But there are people who are against Korean car. Dunno why.. Quite worried as ppl said this car is a fuel drinker. Heard about Magfuel and like to know if any of you guys out there are using it. Or is there any good ones that is legal & do not void the warranty. Are there ways to save fuel.. Just topped up S$30/- of fuel on Sunday evening and now it's already 1/4 to empty and can only last me for 3 days.Usage 80% expressway. Pls help.... Don't worry.... it's like some pple still don't like Starhub mobile.... so if u've got the car.... just enjoy it. As for the fuel part.... sorry can't help.... heard like 8 out of 10 pple complaining that their Hyundai car is a fuel drinker.... one of them even add various "fuel saving" stuffs... but end up worst!.... My rule is.... don't waste those $$...just my 2 cents... ↡ Advertisement
