Hefty cost

A breakdown of all cost for the repairs i've done on the car.

 

Air con compressor - 900

Cooling coil - 780

Rear axle - 800

4 windows lifter - 170x4= 680

1 rear passenger locking assy. - 200

 

 

I guess all these are due to wear and tear. After a period of time, all these things start to break down.. A real hefty sum maintaining the car.

What's the age of your drive? That's quite a major repair work done on these wear and tear items...scary indeed

I just have a major placement in my 0.5 year old car.

 

The front windscreen got hit by a rock and it made a 50cent size crack on the windscreen.

 

Yesterday checked with NTUC INCOME and can claim for the windscreen replacement but excess of $100.

 

Have called Mr Ang of MARS who do repair to windscreen, he charges $80.

 

Got it changed at Tuff Kote workshop, instructed by INCOME.

 

But now got to spend more $$ to redo my thermal film and also need to fix my DAB antenna...

About 3 yr plus already. Dennis said that most cars will start to wear and tear during this period. So just be prepared. And i just found out my driver side mirror got cracked. Must be some moron walked into it, then his bag hit it. Idiotic. Worse of all, nobody has stock for mirrors.

Sorry to hear that. I got a scratch that went across the face of the bonnet cover and polish can't help much

 

I wonder why people love doing this kinda of things...with their car keys I bet!

 

But looking at your repair cost, an air con compressor costs $900 and cooling coil $780?? That's pretty ex..mine is about 2 yrs plus and will be saving up money to standby...

Thansk for the detailed breakdown... here's mine, mostly self inflicted (ie. not necessary jobs)

 

Accessories- Thermal Barrier Coat done by Autofix: $250

- Change stock speakers to Danish Speakers: $500

- Change to TOMO leather seats: $1,200

- Change door side wall from fabric to leather: $200

- Sports rim (changed twice) now MOMO: $650

- Tyres Michelin Preceda: $550

- Sport Grille and Rear boot spoiler: $700 includ paint spray

- Grounding done by Servo: $100

- Surbo by Heng: $60

- K&N from Rennsport: $90

- Pillar mounted gauges: $200

 

Servicings

Never keep track but the most recent one at Servo was a major one incl. the aircon. That svcing was $340. Plus the rest estimate another $300. Total $640. Pls the $150 I paid for the the Varta maintenance free batt... Total is abt $800

 

Repairs

Can only remember one repair to my Fabia. The fan belt broke one while I was driving and I had to pay $35 towing and $70 for a replacement belt.

Gauges...interesting, what are the gauges you installed?

Yeah, no one want to do my door so in the end bump into this workshop in Alexandra that specialise in such things... so far so good on the door leather. Worried that it will pop out (ie glue not working) so every week apply UV protectors on the door leather.

 

Yeah, added quite a bit more stuffs to the car too. Now thinking of bodykitting it. No choice becoz hard to sell this car so might as well treat it terribly well and enjoy the ride for the next 8 yrs!

The gauges I installed are the cheaper one... cant remember the name. Can't afford those high end gauges that cost just $400 each!
