En0203 2nd Gear October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 the most cost effective way is to bear with it
Ace_t Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 it's those stuff that are causing the windscreen shudder. also the age of your wiper blade has to be taken into account. how is the condition of the windscreen ?
Nismoman Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 cheapest way is to change the wipers u can try adding some car shampoo to your wiper fluid tank this will lubricate the wipers. RainX is one of the causes of the stuttering. They make your wipers overly efficient, friction increases, Try not to apply it too often. Maybe once in 2 months. The water beading effect should still be there, but the stuttering will go away

Fireman 1st Gear October 20, 2003 Author Share October 20, 2003 I would say the windscreen condition is new. My ride barely 4 months old. Wiper blade just change a new Bosch one.
Fireman 1st Gear October 20, 2003 Author Share October 20, 2003 Car shampoo into wiper tank. Ok. Will try that. RainX is a pain in the a**. I stop using that. Try washing the windscreen with soap, etc but no effect. I think the rainX cleaner also pain in the a**. Not effective. Guess will have to leave it and see how it goes. Ace_t Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 Then it's probably the RainX that causes this shuddering.. new windscreen should not need to use the product..

En0203 2nd Gear October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 hahaha ... eh ... thanks ah. aiks paiseh ar i also nv help just remember rainX will make ur wiper wear faster so don't apply it so often anyway, for my lao pok car, the wiper is so slow that i won't even turn on the wiper in heavy rain if i use rainX
Ace_t Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 rainX works ok for the first few times. After that every swipe from the wiper will actually cloud yr windscreen. Not only that, the alcohol properties can damage your wiper blades in the long run, by making it hard and brittle, which can eventually scratch yr windscreen. Cool Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 Windscreen wiper juttering is caused by using Wax and wash liquid which a layer of wax stays on the layer. There 2 things you need to tackle. 1 is the windscreen and the other the wiper. RainX only makes it worst Windscreen 1. Get a 3M fine gauss sponge (those that clean wine glass). 2. Use Mama Lemon and apply on the screen 3. In a circular motion, use the 3M sponge over the screen till you get a smooth surface. 4. Wash it. 5. Use Newspaper to clean it 6. Wash it with soap and water 7. Finally, use those polishing cotton gauss to dry it Wiper. 1. Use 3M fine Gauss sponge and clean it 2. When the black dirt marks disappears, use newspaper 3. Finally, use "baby wipes" to cleam it till it is moist.
Orangie Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 Think I read in some mag is to run fine sand paper over the new blades to make it last longer
Michel Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 change the windscreen and the whole wiper assembly... Better safe than sorry if you wanna get rid of the whole thing once and for all.
Nismoman Neutral Newbie October 20, 2003 Share October 20, 2003 RainX adds a hydrophobic layer on the windscreen. It makes your windscreen repel water. I think the alcohol acts as a carrier fluid for the active chemical. The alcohol vapourises within seconds of application. The alcohol shouldn't have any effect on your wipers unless you leave your them down when you do the application.
