Tyres Recommended for 17"

Any bro can recommend a good set of tyres for 215/45R17?

 

Priority will be :

1. Quiet

2. Comfort

3. Braking

4. Handling

Do you drive fast? Is braking very critical or just 3rd in your priority ranking? If important then maybe the Michelin P-Zero but quite expensive though

The problem is to have comfort, quietness and performance is tough to compromise and very few tyres to choose from thus you pay for what you get

Bro, 17" is for performance liao because of the lower profile of the tyre. Want comfort go for 14 or 15 to take advantage of the higher profile.

 

Why talk about comfort when one wants 17"

17" quiet and comfort 45 profile tyre? Like quite difficult to find leh....

 

How about Conti Eco Contact?

for 17", 45 series tyres, you can forget abt quiet and comfort.....

 

just go for the best performance tyres....

For the 17inches tyres and above..

you can basically throw out pt 1 & 2 as pt 3 and pt 4 is always the priority in the design of the tyres and with an aspect ratio of lower than 50...the tyre wall will be stiffer and thinner hence the ride will definitely be more bumpy...

but if a compromise is in mind then probably you can try more comfort biased tyres like

 

1.AVS DB

2.Conti contact

3. Michelin SX

 

etc

If budget is not a constraint, go for Conti Sport Contact 2 (CSCII). Personally found it to be a good compromise of noise/comfort/grip you can get for 215/45R17. But expect to fork out more than $1000 for a whole set of 4.

If the car you are driving is the same as the one in your avatar...then may I suggest you go for Pirelli tyres then ?

 

For 17", relatively, there isnt much comfort or quietness in the tyres...just the braking and the handling parts.

 

My choices would be some of the following:

- Michelin Pilot Sport

- Pirelli P-Zero (Rosso or Nero)

- Michelin Pilot Preceda

 

There will be some other tyres which our fellow members will be recommending as well.
