Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 seriously do NOT recommend Eco contact... heard some people had very bad experiences with that. I guess how the tyre respond depends on how you use it. I mean, if quiet and comfort is the major preference, there are not many 17" 45 profile tyres that can give you that. Anyway, I'm not too sure whether the Eco Contact even comes in this size. For me, it's handling and grip. However, when you have grip and handling, quietness and comfort usually takes a back seat. And to some people, noise and harshness can become a bad experience for them too. ↡ Advertisement
Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 Any bro can recommend a good set of tyres for 215/45R17? Priority will be : 1. Quiet 2. Comfort 3. Braking 4. Handling If budget is not a constraint, go for Conti Sport Contact 2 (CSCII). Personally found it to be a good compromise of noise/comfort/grip you can get for 215/45R17. But expect to fork out more than $1000 for a whole set of 4. Ah....CSCII seems to be a good choice. They are known to be quiet for a high performance tyre but just don't know how quiet. Skywalker Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Author Share December 10, 2003 I don't drive fast. Change to 17" is only for cosmetic look rather than performance, that's why I looking for the most quiet & comfort tyres in this series. Handling as long not too bad will do, of course braking is important as safety is concern.
Skywalker Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Author Share December 10, 2003 Aspect DB is one of my choice as it is one of the quiet & comfort tyres in this range, the other is Falken ZIEX-512, anyone try this before?

Skywalker Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Author Share December 10, 2003 CSCII is a good tyres, any idea how long it can last? I had used Falken ST115 and last me for ~45,000km (2 years) before completely wear out. Slightly more than $1K should be fine for the quality. Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 That's tough. By convention, a 45 profile tyre is deemed high performance, so grip and handling is the main priority, over quiet and comfort. So most manufacturers do not produce touring tyres with that profile. Anyway, with a 45 profile sidewall, how comfortable can you get? May I ask why you get a 17" if comfort and quiet is your main priority? Good compromise tyres would be CSC2, P6000. How about Conti Premier Contact?
Skywalker Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Author Share December 10, 2003 Reason is for costmetic look, and that's why I'm looking for the most quiet and comfort tyres as much as possible in this range. I understand 45 profile usually don't come provide these critera, but just want to find the closest i can get.
