Soya Supersonic December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 If wheel wobble is not noticible when on the balancing machine (balance 0:0) but vibrates when driving. Some say rim may be warped but how to tell? How do i know it's not the tyres instead? ↡ Advertisement
Saaber Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 in that case, it could be your suspension at fault...do an on-wheel balancing, it will eradicate the vibration...
Soya Supersonic December 10, 2003 Author Share December 10, 2003 Tried that, still vibrates. SM claims suspension is ok, fault is wif the rims since i deviated from their stock rims. Rims shop claims rim is ok, suspension faulty. Grrrr....damn frustrating
Chippz Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 i had that problem too, mech did a high speed balancing for me, and it solved the problem.

Saaber Neutral Newbie December 10, 2003 Share December 10, 2003 How abt this?...try to swap with a fellow T4 a set of rims/tyres and try it and you will know whether it is the rims or the suspension at fault...
Raycsk Neutral Newbie December 16, 2003 Share December 16, 2003 If wheel wobble is not noticible when on the balancing machine (balance 0:0) but vibrates when driving. Some say rim may be warped but how to tell? How do i know it's not the tyres instead? When yopu bought them rims, they should come with precision rings specifically for your hub. This positions the rims exactly in the centre and ensures the rim sits correctly. If that is present then... Rotate your tyres from front to back and test for wobbling. If there is no wobbling, the the rim is suspected to be imbalanced/warped. Send to another tyre shop and check the rims (without tyre) for balance. Also, is the offset correct? Soya Supersonic December 16, 2003 Author Share December 16, 2003 remembered seeing them fit some rings to the rim. rotated and it got worse. had to re-rotated it back. the 40 offset is within the 37-44 range. do u think the tyres could be 'out-of-round'?
