Mike_abs Neutral Newbie September 24, 2010 Share September 24, 2010 actually i also considering getting a r2 and my gf like it so much too but the thing she is worry that the car might nt go up the slope properly, loaded with four adult. btw i am already 90kg n 180cm le wat u guys think ? i think this car is not a good choice. when u have more than 2 persons in the car, you have to rev the engine quite a bit to get going. And the engine noise is already quite audible in the first place. ↡ Advertisement
Mike_abs Neutral Newbie September 24, 2010 Share September 24, 2010 The engine revs hard on pick up even though I am particularly light on the gas pedal... Revs up to about 3,000rpm before the car starts to move off... Is that considered normal for R2? it is the same for me too. but it is ok once it is already moving. changing lanes and overtaking on the expressways is not a problem, as long as I have no passengers and I do not do it uphill. The engine is quite responsive when I floor it during overtaking.
Iygnaug 1st Gear September 24, 2010 Share September 24, 2010 Considering the fact the this car is running on CVT, i think the response is quite good... If you are traveling with family most of the time, don't buy this car. Most of the time, i am the lone driver cum passenger, still manageable. by the way, i could never pump more than $45 at petrol kiosk.....so missed out on shell $50 promotion thingy....... Iygnaug 1st Gear December 12, 2010 Share December 12, 2010 Does anyone know how to tell DOHC from SOHC? Or anyone know whether the Subaru R2s in the Singapore market are SOHC or DOHC version? Thanks! EN07D (DOHC AVCS) R2 was used from its debut, the version with variable valve timing DOHC head. The ignition system is used direct ignition. * DOHC 16 valve AVCS * Displacement: 658cc * Inside diameter
