Ahbengdriver 6th Gear March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 I just came back with a friend from Motor Image where he checked out the R2. Wah lao....this car cannot make it lah. Frankly. Saying its no power is an understatement. It is only probably suitable for a single person weighing less than 60 kg, with no passengers. Sorry subaru R2
Vesfreq Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 After all the excitement from the first page of the thread, thanks bro. I almost wanted to go test drive. Save my time. My first impression of r2 was.... the claustrophobic space, not quite suitable for people who wants to have space for 4 passengers, frequently. Vit4wd 1st Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 I was in my colleague's car today, following behind a R2. Rear looks very bulky if you look straight at it. The Kenari's rear looks nicer. The R2's rear reminds me of the 1998 Hyundai Atos.

Liping24 Neutral Newbie March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 The R1 car price is not in line with the quality. Due to the ARF and COE taxes, the cheaper cars will reach a level of unfavourable price-to-quality(package) ratio. R1, R2, QQ, Geely are IMHO not worth its price-to-quality. The Picanto, Getz, Sparks, Lancer, Sunny are more 'worth'.

Brembo Neutral Newbie June 30, 2010 Share June 30, 2010 Hi guys, I am reviving this thread cus its the only title stated "Subaru R2" I just downgraded from a mazda 3 to a 2nd hand Subaru R2 due to under utilise of the car. Was tinking of chatting up with anyone who owns or has owned this car before on the maintainance wise, power management wise...
Mokaidan Neutral Newbie September 13, 2010 Share September 13, 2010 (edited) I recently downgraded from Mitsubishi Colt to Subaru R2 as well. Wanted a more economical car. Was looking forward to the claimed 24km/L FC, but FC so far is around 12~13km/L... Nowhere close to the claimed FC of 24km/L, even though I had been driving it light-footedly under the "ECO" mode... Any fellow R2 owner care to share about their experiences with R2's FC?? Thanks. Edited September 13, 2010 by Mokaidan
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 13, 2010 Share September 13, 2010 Colt to R2??? and you want more fuel economy??? how bad was your Colt in the first place???
Mokaidan Neutral Newbie September 13, 2010 Share September 13, 2010 (edited) Actually it was around 12km/L on my Colt... The thing is, claimed FC for Colt is 14.5km/L whereas it's 24km/L for the R2! I wasn't really totally optimistic into expecting a full 24km but I was thinking it'd be decent enough if I could get 18-19km/L... But it's nowhere near that either! Mokaidan Neutral Newbie September 13, 2010 Share September 13, 2010 Does anyone know whether the Subaru R2 available in Singapore market is the SOHC or DOHC version??
Iygnaug 1st Gear September 13, 2010 Share September 13, 2010 16km/l tires are important. driving route also important. going to 120km/l alright, just a bit light... acceleration slow. Power is sufficient to drive in singapore traffic, but it's really bad when u are driving up a long slope...Don't expect much though. maintenance wise, i only go bad to AD as they know more abt the car than my roadside mechanic that is not so cheap either. by the way, worldwide production stopped this year in March. ↡ Advertisement
