XxJasonxX Neutral Newbie March 6, 2011 Share March 6, 2011 well I dont own an R2 yet.. Thinking of getting one for my dad to drive.. Basically he is looking for a cheap, small OPC car so I hit the sgcarmart website and a few choices came up: Getz Aveo R2 Still unsure of which one to get for him now cos I heard about the FC of Getz and Aveo not very good but unsure of the FC of R2. Not many R2 owners out there i guess? I was also wondering if there are any workshops that sells the nicer looking front grille for the R2? Something like the R1? CelineKam Neutral Newbie March 7, 2011 Share March 7, 2011 ok. What about honda fit or Jazz? As for front grille, i believe you can order online and ask the workshop to put for you... But what is your budget to get the car?
XxJasonxX Neutral Newbie March 7, 2011 Share March 7, 2011 fit and jazz above the budget sia.. saw a R2 OPC selling for $23k, 2008 model.. per mth only about $200+..

Hobbit Neutral Newbie March 25, 2011 Share March 25, 2011 (edited) Hi, Im a happy driver for Subaru R1, i reckon R2 will not differ much. Maintanence wise is appox $80 for 10K. petrol is aro $160 per month. (400KM per full tank) i have driven it for almost 2 years it has not broken down, only normal wear and tear. which is quite cheap, went to malacca 3 times and back, drive is not terrible and not tired at all (110 - 120km/hr) Things i have changed 1) Battery - $90 2)Rim changed it to wide ones , the original is 4 1/2 inch now its 6 1/2 inch - Fuel Consumption is not really noticeable. - $900(Rims) 3)Air filters. - $35 4)Added a active subwoofer and changed head unit to a 2 din DVD Pioneer player (4150)- $1.2 5)went to JB to fix custom bodykit -PM$200 + Coffee $RM 5. All in all it is a Great drive, of course i cannot out race a 1.3 swift or fit but on several occassion i had the last laugh when i slot in between trailers and buses. Parking is a breeze especially parallel when some animal drivers park out of their space and i can still squeeze into it. (Personally i have seen a few fits and swift trying to do a parallel at shipyard road but end up given up but i can park it sweatless). Other than car interior space which is really tight when squeeze 4 full grown party animals. i have no other complains. if it is for young couple or just married with 1 kid it is still comfortable. Akaysha Neutral Newbie March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 I second Hobbit's post! I'm working in Tuas and staying in the east, so was thinking to get a car with a better FC. A friend of mine was also driving R2 previously and was in the same situation as me. He told me that his FC went up to as far as 24km/ltr for travelling on expressway! In the initial period I only managed 17km/ltr, but later managed 20km/ltr and I'm very happy with it! Though the space is tight, its good for travelling. Mine is a 4 year old car and is still working fine, even though I'm hitting 100k soon! Only thing is the repair costs are quite hefty. I remember replacing the side mirror on driver's side cost me SGD 100! Other than that I have no complains about my car and love it to death! Even parking is a breeze! Iygnaug 1st Gear April 21, 2011 Share April 21, 2011 I am very heavy footed and i don't travel much on expressway. My FC hovers around 13km/l only........ Anyway, i just received a letter from motorimage with regards to an inspection of the crank pulley on the car. It states that it is a precaution measure to ensure that crank pulley is performing to the required standard. My mileage is 70k now. So if you have not received the letter, please book an inspection with motorimage. If you bought the car 2nd hand and have not been back to MI for servicing, chances are that you have not received the letter.
