Meguiar's Gold Class

I've used both Meguiars Gold Class Wash and Gold Class Wax on my black Toledo. I really like the product, easy to apply easy to remove and on dark coloured cars, really retains the wet/glossy look.

 

But because now using Glare, have stopped using Gold Class

Not bad, but in our kind of weather, max 2 to 3 weeks depending on how often u park in the open/kenah rain...so it's very subjective.

 

My carpark is covered so usually lasts a month.

wah, 2-3 weeks onli ah?? that's quite short. i onli wax every 3 mths.

I mean it really depends on how much rain and how heavy the rain is and where you park your car. But max for myself was 1.5 months.

 

Alternatively after waxing and subsequent washing, you can use their Meguiars Quik Detail to always preserve the smoothness for as long as possible.

 

I dunno of any wax that can last 3 months in our SG weather leh.

The quik detail is good, helps u retain the gloss and smoothness of the surface.

thks for the tip. but what's the diff between gold class n quik detail? i mean, both still hv to wash, dry, buff on, buff off rite?

Gold Class Wax is the main polish/wax application. Quik detail is used after you have already waxed your car and do subsequent washing. After washing, just use the Quik Detail to retain gloss and smoothness.

oic...does either the GC or QD leave a white stain on black plastic trims?

I believe most wax do that. Quik detail doesn't leave a stain but my suggestion is as long as kenah the trims, quickly remove it asap so that it would not stain.

Now that you are using Glare, how's the comparison like?

Ok...Glare was applied on my car in December...and we know how wet the weather was from then up till a couple of weeks ago. My car is definitely not smooth anymore, in fact, glare does not seem to last in that sense, it does not retain the smooth surface as long as say, Meguiars. However, when I wash the car with normal shampoo, the shine is still evident.

 

So, shine still there, but surface not smooth. Interesting thing is even though the surface is not smooth, water spots can still be easily washed out...

 

But if one prefers the smoothness of the surface, then conventional wax would be better.

Hi,

 

Notice that your car is on Glare for quite sometime now. Would like to hear from you on your aftercare experience. Do you still feel the need to wash your car as often? Did you went back for the Glare wash, wash the car by yourself or just go for outside manual wash (e.g. manual wash at petrol station)? I'm considering between Glare or Toughseal and would like to hear from those who have real life experience.
