Mondeo Neutral Newbie September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 So change the flywheel? ↡ Advertisement
Madarmour Neutral Newbie September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Nope, basically there is gradual power loss from the crank to the wheels due to laws of physics and the figure is abt 15%. Manufacturer's figure is always taken from crank or flywheel whereas it is impossible for us to dyno the flywheel, unless you take out the engine to dyno! So when we dyno, the power is measured on wheels. Get it?
Seansene 1st Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 That power curve just keeps going up, up and away!
Madarmour Neutral Newbie September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 The engine's a peach! Shiokadoo from 3000 all the way to 6500! I love my babe!

Vtim 3rd Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Just remember not to have a Heavy Meal before going for the ride . If no choice, you can always bring along a plastic bag
Seansene 1st Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Don't worry, I've survived my Airforce trainers trying to get us to hurl in mid-air, this should "only" result in sweaty palms
Vtim 3rd Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Good for you, it sure didn't work for me as I always 'Tar Bow' during my Airforce training days (very short, only about 14+ of flying hours)
Seansene 1st Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Hey, you were a pilot trainee as well? I never made it past the single prop aircraft - couldn't land!
Vtim 3rd Gear September 6, 2002 Share September 6, 2002 Same here, straight & level, turns was ok for me. Only everytime when I finished the 'barrel roll', 'loop the loop', 'figure eight' on the SF260, I always 'Tar Pow' one . Then they send me to Paya Lebar Air Base Medical Center to seek some medical treatment . Well, it was a bad idea . All they do the whole day is to spin me round & round & round & round & round.... to get me used to the feeling . That 1 week was one of the worst days of my life. Everyday go home with the inside of my head still spinning . Finally, went back to flying & still 'Tar Pow', so kanna the chop
Magfocus 5th Gear September 7, 2002 Share September 7, 2002 3k to 4k seems like a very short range leh. Gone before you can finish the word 'Whoaaa"............... Do you have a torque curve of your babe? Hmm..maybe I should rephrase Ok then, from 3k onwards
Spacio1 Neutral Newbie September 11, 2002 Share September 11, 2002 Hi Guys , Anyone did the grounding and magnet ? Any feed back in terms of responsiveness of the car and the fuel consumption? Importantly, does it void warranty ? Thanks a million
Magfocus 5th Gear September 11, 2002 Share September 11, 2002 Hi there, I did the grounding for my Focus Fuel consumption for mine ranges from 12 to 13.5km/l now. Lights were brighter too. No, it doesnt void the warranty, its hardly detectable anyway
Spacio1 Neutral Newbie September 11, 2002 Share September 11, 2002 Thanks a lot Will try that after fully run -in my Focus, now just above 2000km. Was yours done by COOL ?

Jman888 Moderator September 11, 2002 Share September 11, 2002 (edited) Hi Spacio1, I've just done the magnet by Cool on Sunday, yet to tell on the result . Feel faster respond sometime but occasionally it didn't respond even how hard i step on it . Will give it a couple of weeks to see the result. My main purpose is for reducing fuel consumption, so tell only after few more pump. Cool did advise me not to do the grounding until after the 2nd servicing, RM is quite particular about this thing , perhap MagFocus can advise on him experience with RM. Magfocus 5th Gear September 11, 2002 Share September 11, 2002 I think the response thing is more of the autobox issue than anything else. I believe you would see better consumption as the engine wears in. My initial feel was that the throttle was lighter(mines a manual) and the lights were brighter, both inside and out. ↡ Advertisement
