Front speakers

Barakian, I am also interested in getting a front pair of speakers. Kindly advice what brand & model (if possible) on a budget of just $300? If its CDT & Velocity, what models is recommended?

 

If I were to add an amp as well, what and how much will you recommend.

For $300, I believe you should be able to get a CDT or Velocity, no problemo...not too sure about the models though...

 

For an amp, get a good Class-A 2-channel amp to drive your comps in passive mode (most common upgrade option as your component speakers should come bundled with a pair of passive crossovers)...if you wish to run your fronts active, then can go for a Class-A 4-channel amp, but you will need to buy an electronic crossover to run active. OR, you could buy a 4-channel amp and use 2 channels to run your fronts passive and the other 2 channels to run your rear speakers.

 

Brands of amps that come to mind will include PPI, Cadence, MTX Blue Thunder and Orion. Depends on how much you are willing to fork out for an amp. For price range of these amps, I do not have anything on hand now, mebbe your ICE installer will be able to advise you better.
