Peterlee Neutral Newbie September 8, 2002 Share September 8, 2002 Hi. My 30k servicing coming soon. Was thinking worth going back to CA or give some 3rd party a try. I also exp. aircon problem and recently my power steering warning light is appearing. Sometime can feel steering very heavy. So any recommendation. What was the VW service contact again??? Something servothronic? ↡ Advertisement

Sonnytay Neutral Newbie September 10, 2002 Share September 10, 2002 HI Peter, Just sent my car to CA yesterday for repair on the front which was H&R. (After 4 damned months) I told them to do my 30k servicing as well. Apparently, for first time customer sending in their vehicle for servicing for the first time, they will provide free labor to change mineral oil (free) & oil filter (free). But if you want them to conduct a check on the other items, like brake, belts etc, you will have to pay $110.00. Top up 52.50 if you want synthetic oil instead. Since car is still new, I skip the $110 check but top up 52.50 for synthetic oil.
Skoda_Man Neutral Newbie September 10, 2002 Share September 10, 2002 Just curious. How much is your repair bill come up to be? Claiming the other party?

Sonnytay Neutral Newbie September 12, 2002 Share September 12, 2002 Peter, let me give you this suggestion. 1) Organise a meetup 2) Check out other fabias 3) When owner not looking, remove one of the plastic thingy from the other fabia 4) Quickly hide the thing away 5) Fix the thing on your fabia when you reach home P/S: Please exclude me from your meetup. Fabiaman 1st Gear September 19, 2002 Share September 19, 2002 Peter, your missing front panel (which is supposed to house the fog lights) is VERY FLIMSY.. that is why you lost it. I have tried removing teh whole of the bottom black panels and they are quite easy except for the centre portion which I couldnt... heard I had to remove the whole bumper to remove the centre low grille. As for servicing, if its just change oil, any mech also can lah... unless you have specific needs then Servo might be a good place to go to. I just changed my oil at a normal workshop... didnt go Servoi as they want $30 from me for oil and filter change! Went to a normal mech instead and paid just $15. In JB, heard its even cheaper at less than 10 RM for oil change and filter change.... provided you bring your oil and filter of course. Just got some Amsoil and bot some filters from MANN
Sky8807 1st Gear September 19, 2002 Share September 19, 2002 No need to remove bumper to remove the centre lower panel. I had remove it b4. A little prying that is all.
Fabiaman 1st Gear September 19, 2002 Share September 19, 2002 Huh? Then you mut teach me how to remove it. Okay , in cae you guy are wondering why I asked. I am trying to DIY the fixing up of a GRILLE on the lower part of the front. Hence, to do so, need to remove the black plastic grilles. ↡ Advertisement
