Well, firstly those ionizers are too darn small to be effective and secondly ionization is to negatively charge the air particles so that they stick to the surfaces around the ionizer for better filtration rather than fighting odor.

Your best bet is to use a carbon a/c filter instead. Volvo have carbon filters for the a/c system, costly though [sweatdrop]

no smell lah. juz saw this ioniser thingy on sale at shell while pumping gas. looked quite good but kinda small so was wondering if such things work. i've a habit of winding down windows each time i drive off to get some fresh air in first but isn't practical sometimes. feels stuffy if i dun get this 'fix'. tongue.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

you shouldn't wind down - juz turn off the recycling button, then you'll get fresh air in. if you wind down, the air doesn't get filtered as you have so pointed out in your cabin filter post....

if u off recirculation button, can smell outside exhaust air. lagi worse. my other post reveals that wowo has a/c cabin filter for recirculation mode. so better to draw 'fresh' air in and let the cabin filter do it's job.
