Review of the m3 (Mazda 3 not the M3)

The specs quoted says 11 sec instead of 12.7 secs as stated by most and reviewer says performance no good...hmmm. Either the specs is wrong or he had a bad day. Anyway, I really thought it should be around 11-12 as the pick up wasnt that bad once you know how to work around it.

Anyway, they can say anything they want and the fact still remains that if you asked me to choose another car again, I will still go for MZ3. [nod]

If I am looking at this price range, I'll probably go for the Focus but I must say that I like the look of the m3. It really looks good, just wonder why Mazda must mess with the setup... [whip][smash]

I guess the reviewer is quite fair from his viewpoint cause Maz keeps harping on the sportiness but in the 1.6, it isn't sporty at all. They raise the expectations and cannot deliver it. He did say the RX8 is good [thumbsup]

Jeremy is a cool dude. But he has the guts to retract what he has said if proven wrong. He used to hate Vaxhall that is until the VX220 came up. Now he loves that car.

moral of the story: dun fall for the 'zoom-zoom' marketing crap.

dun get me wrong; the new mazdas are not bad, juz a bit over-hyped (and wif over-hyped pricetags to match). tongue.gif

I think the m6 has proven itself. The m3 should have been better (I have not driven it so this is just based on the reviews I've read), maybe if they have not meddled with the rear setup.... if only.....

Big pricetags in its first year of launch like what is happening with the m3 now. Wait for a year and the price will be around the Altis. My friend bought the m6 when it was launch and > S$100k, now it is probably < S$100k.

Maybe the group did not want to shoot itself in the foot. Imagine the same handling on the new S40 T5 vis-a-vis the new Focus vis-a-vis the m3. Eveyone will buy the m3 and mod the engine. [sly]

I fell in love with the old 323 hatch gti (I think it is a gti) when I was much younger. Cool looking sporty car especially in black. Then the RX7 (b4 it became "beng-ded"). The m6 has proven itself around the world and the mx5 is one of my fav roadster but I will hold my comments on RX8's styling. Had high hopes for the m3 but.....

Down here they scared to give bad reviews lah ... wait lose sponsors dead.gif No sponsors means magazine shut down as they dun really depend on retail sales but most of their revenue comes from sponsors like the car distributors thumbsdown.gif

More like no more cars for test drive... [laugh][laugh]

yeah my brother's pet peeve with the local car mags also something like they always sit on the fence and remain non-committal or conclusive.......they will tell u what's good abt this car and what negative abt this car.....but even when doing a head to head comparison between 2 cars in the same segment, the local car mags shy away from making a choice between the cars.

which kind of speak for the sg culture anyway - non-commital, scared of being wrong etc

I think the local reviewers are held to ransom by the various distributors. Else they would probably let rip too... [laugh]

wonders if the turbo mx5 will make it to our shores....

Didn't they bring it in with the new launch?

(edited)

i think the specs is for a manual version dude. Jeremy dun really like driving auto cars in review. Even the slr that he drove he has some stupid remarks about the auto trans in it.
