Diff between BHP, HP, PS

Hey, I've seen many diff units of measurement for engine power.

Any idea wats the diff between BHP, HP, PS, and wat ever else there is?

 

I noe BHP is brake horsepower, but wat's it mean exactly? Is it something like effective HP after taking into account frictional losses?

Brake horspower = is the computed HP on a chasis dynamometer

HP = is the theoritical HP

PS = is the ISO version of HP

Ah, ic, so actually HP is a pretty useless figure lah?

BHP is wat we should be looking at...

 

HP is calculated using the thermodynamics is it? I mean as in enthalpy tat kind of stuff is it?

HP is only for the paper engineers. Comparing HP and BHP - the frictional HP lose can be quite high.

Honda likes to use PS in it's brochures. Is tat a good indication? tot most others use BHP.

No difference. One likes inches and the other likes centimeters. No difference. Just confusion.
