Just crank and drive off. In fact, stationary and letting the engine warm up can do more harm as it creates carbon-build up. Just remember, go gentle when you drive off and dun over-rev or hit high RPMs when the engine is still cold as it may shorten ur engine life. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

You cans tart driving off once u start the engine, however, do make sure the engine has sufficiently warmed up before you start revving it. Ghostrider 3rd Gear May 25, 2004 Share May 25, 2004 Unless you are driving a vintage car that requires warming up cos cold engine will stall...there is no need to warmup your engine. Drive off after you have start your engine. This will allow the engine oils to circulate to parts of the engine rather than letting the oil stays at the oil sump. Try not to switch on your aircon until the engine has reach optimum temp....this is to reduce the load on a cold engine. Any pros or cons to warmup ur engine? don't need to warm up but if you want can let the engine run for a while...say 30 to 60sec to let the engine oil circulate to the top of the engine to lub the moving parts there. as for me, it's start and go most of the time ↡ Advertisement Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
