Anybody heard or tried this Battery Alert - Battery Failure Warning System?

Got this lobang, sign up STAR Prestige Membership for $65/yr and get the Battery Alert for free! So, anybody know what's it worth and if it works?

Thanks in advance! [;)]

It'll buzz u if yr battery going to be flatted, now a day, most of us using disposal battery, can't help that much, even liqud battery can be checked the liquid level just opne bonnet. Suggest to buy a portable e-battery better. Of course if you want to join the star club, this is free gift, no harm! [:p]

The problem is that my battery is covered and it's a hassle to open and check. Is the portable e-battery one that you plug in into the cig lighter?

Anyway, as you said free gift, no harm! Thanks!

There are plenty of voltage indicators to plug into the ciggy lighter socket as well as maint-free batteries which are fire and forget type.

Anyway, when cranking becomes weak in the morning, time to consider a new batt ASAP! [;)]

Anyone know what value add does this product give to car owners as against those cheapo car battery meter tester for the car?

I was at Autobacs last week and also laughed when I saw them selling it for abt 50 bucks! Wonder if anyone bother to buy one of these....

Hi Tantt70

For $50, it would better to invest in two instruments (hydrometer and multimeter), of which you would probably have some spare change.

The hydrometer gives you a reading for the acidity of the electrolyte of the battery - which is a cheap and effective way to gauge the state of the battery charge.

The multimeter can give the voltage of the battery and also see (with engine running) whether your alternator is charging.

So, these two instruments are the best bet (if not an accurate one) if you want to know the health of your battery.
