Ravinged 5th Gear July 7, 2004 Share July 7, 2004 Hi folks, I don't know what I am typing up there in the topic ... but anyway, here's my query. I read from hardwarezone that there has been many cases of cars failing inspection due to grounding items under the bonnet, and this is something which I actually did not think about all these while. What can we say about stuffs like grounding? Or even voltage stabiliser that comes with grounding cables as well? Are this "pass-able" for inspection? Yeobh 4th Gear July 7, 2004 Share July 7, 2004 (edited) The two main guidelines in formating the bi-annual inspection checks is a) safety & b) pollution Unless grounding and voltage stabiliser can caused sudden engine lost of power while the car is in motion - then it is considered an undesirable/unsafe add-on components. Under road safety rules, the inspection centres can insist you remove the add-on components. Edited July 7, 2004 by Yeobh
Ravinged 5th Gear July 7, 2004 Author Share July 7, 2004 So being LTA-compliant doesn't necessarily mean it is "pass-able" during inspections? Absurb isn't it? Ed
Ghostrider 3rd Gear July 8, 2004 Share July 8, 2004 LTA compliant who say one first....if said by the shop...they will even tell you that George Bush Jr. limo also uses it...so no count. Only LTA says compliant then got count...even then you must follow their installation guideline.

Ravinged 5th Gear July 9, 2004 Author Share July 9, 2004 That's good! I'm thinking of going HVS upgrade ... butt itchy liao now that the oil leak and lousy clutch is a thing of the past. What do you think of the Pivot Voltage Stabiliser? Any good? Heard stories from both side, undecided at the moment. Ed

Phochem Neutral Newbie July 9, 2004 Share July 9, 2004 should be as good as HVS, heard some good comments from few friends who've tried it.
Bluecity Neutral Newbie July 14, 2004 Share July 14, 2004 Haha... I have 13 point grounding. Alway passed my annual inspection few months ago. Maybe the grounding work was like sxxt. Wire goes all around the engine, that's why can failed.
Luckcent 4th Gear July 14, 2004 Share July 14, 2004 Probably failed due to poor workmanship.

Luckcent 4th Gear July 14, 2004 Share July 14, 2004 Here in MCF, we have a Guru for grounding, check with him lah....
Bluecity Neutral Newbie July 14, 2004 Share July 14, 2004 don't need. I myself is already a guru. most importantly, the grounding cable must not lay across the engine top and must not be hanging freely. And all point to point must be secure properly.
