Sound when Radio is on

Hi All

 

Noticed that there's this strange sound coming from the radio/CD. Like sound of poor reception. Well...if its just for the radio, perhaps. But when i switch to CD...there's still sound. Anyone experience this?

Hi Zann_SG

Yes mine had rather constant hissing when in radio mode. Asked the SA to check my antenna, but he said everything looked okay. Went to the original installer for StarsAuto, and they told me its like that one. Cause the headunit is basic entry level, so radio reception also entry level. In the end I gave up and changed to DAB... now crystal clear reception... hee hee

 

As for the strange sound during CD playback, you need to be more specific:

1) What does this noise sound like?

2) Is it the same sound you hear when in radio mode?

3) Is it coming from all speakers or specific speakers only?

4) Is it intermittent or always there?

5) Does the noise get louder also when u turn up and down the volume?

6) Does the noise has any relation to the motion of the vehicle?

 

If you can provide more details, then perhaps the gurus in MCF can help you better. Me only newbie, just joined MCF yesterday
