hmm...maybe news of the 5km/l FC is scaring buyers off.

5km/L is probably a rumour that had been going round the net exaggerating the facts. Most owners claim it is between 8 to 12 km/l, depending on their driving pattern.

This 1.3L (RX-8) is comparable in performance with the 3.5L Nissan Fairlady (which is more expandive in road tax, car price and insurance). Add to that, Honda Integra and Toyota Celica would probably eat dust against this car, not to mention the better exterior and interior finishing. With these range of cars to compare, fuel consumption cannot be the same as a Toyota Corolla lah....

now many RX8 on the Road compare to Z350, mayb due to difference in ROAD TAX?

Well, think the Z350's sales is almost non-existent. If u use June 04's statistics from LTA (ie. onemotoring) as a yardstick, there isn't any Z350 sold at all.... YES! Not even ONE!!!

In the meantime, PIs and Mazda are still rolling out RX-8s.

U can draw ur own conclusion from there....

Many new RX8s seems to be advertised for $121k frm PI lately. If i recall correctly, it used to go for abt $135-$145k. Anyone knows what's the catch??

Mazda Singapore brings in the top end Type S with 6 speed manual gear, factory fitted leather electronic seats, 18" sports rims, sports suspensions, better brake discs etc. All these add to the OMV which adds to the car price after all the taxes.

Apart from competition from Mazda SIngapore, PIs are not bring in this model and are bringing in the lower end models. On top of that, u need to check that their price includes GST, road tax and any other misc charges etc.

If u pay $50K in Aussie, u have to pay another $100K to Singapore government as taxes and COE.

That's life dude.....

Yup... but nevertheless still a much better car that a lot of competitors' cars. If u could see the car, the interior and get to drive it, u will know what I mean....
