Hi Guys,

The Stream brake is pretty weak especially when

depressed all the way down.

Some Japanese Stream Owners placed a metal plate in

front of the Master Brake Cylinder to stop the Master

Brake Cylinder from protruding out.

It can be seen at this website:

http://www28.tok2.com/home/streamcar/sub27.htm

(P.S: Use http://world.altavista.com to translate ...

gotta copy and paste the text).

However, the article did mentioned about potential

damage to the Master Brake Cylinder !

It was also mentioned that new batches of Stream had

this piece of metal installed.

Need to seek you guys comments on whether this is

feasible at all !

Thanks in advance

Change to steel braided hose, slotted rotors and semi-metallic pads.........sure stop better. [thumbsup] If still not enough, a 4-pot caliper and larger rotors should do the trick. [sly]

Hmmmm..... tricky issue. [lipsrsealed]

I called them after you called me that day. They told me they have the DOT 5.1 fluid and will replace for me.

When I reached there, I asked them what brand of DOT 5.1 did they use? They told me some brand (which I dun remember). But when I asked to see the bottles, they told me throw away liow. [shakehead]

So can tell me how to tell whether the fluid is DOT 5.1?

I'm using Sparco for my babe and it costs me $240 for the whole set, excluding installation. You've gotta find one that fits your car. Alternatively, you can do what Mondeo and Sparetyre did and save a lot of legwork! They have it custom-made at Autofix, I think. They use Goodrich steel braided hose and custom make to fit in your car. Simple really, it's just the length and connectors............. Quite competitively priced too.

Sounds fishy, very fishy! It is very unlikely they have only 1 or 2 bottles left and has used them all for your car. Throw away the bottles? C'mon! Don't tell me they use until 'jun-jun' when filling up the resevoir. Problem is, you can never check just by eyeballing. Well, nvm, just buy a DOT 5.1 and change it the next time you flush your hoses, like 20000km down the road................

There's also a problem of what fluid to top up if the level drops. Pray it don't drop too much! [sweatdrop]

Anyway, I rest my case. [shakehead]

Maybe will buy from Mr Lu and bring down to C&C during next service. Will try to see whether they can do it for free......I mean "goodwill".... [sly]

Once you have changed your fluid with DOT 5.1, it is of utmost IMPORTANCE for you to stick a label "USE DOT 5.1 FLUID ONLY". Those helpful mechanic may fill it with DOT 4 otherwise.

Then call me go down together, I want to test drive if they scare of U [:p]

I watched last night BBC's TopGear that the driver spinned the TVR almost 6 round 360degree, so I want to see whether the AMG Benz also can do this.
