Hi Eemin, my E-power ver 1 blue LED not lit-up anymore...however when I disconnect and do a reconnection to the battery on the +ve terminal then to -ve terminal, there is some sparks when the -ve terminal is been touched...just like first time installed.

Should I still continue to use E-power or remove it? Scare it drain out the battery.

Thank you.

Hi .. my understanding is that the LEDs function as indicators on the charging/discharging cycles of the capacitors within the unit device.

Possible expln:

1. LED qi chia oredi.. (not sure abt lifespan of LEDs)

2. the capacitors not functioning..

but in your case, onli one LED not working.. eh.. probably get a mechanic to check is best. (i think the sparks is usual la.. no worries).

Anyone got E Power voltage stabilizer internal component layout picture? i thought of reverse engineered it , coz I wouldn't pay $50 buck or more for the few capacitor which cost $1.50 each.

Voltage stabilizers are designed to maintain a constant voltage level. They protect various home appliances by saving them from unexpected voltage surges and power fluctuations. Stabilizers are generally used with expensive devices like air conditioners, refrigerators, televisions and music systems. They prevent permanent damage that can possibly happen to the electronic and electrical circuits of such precious appliances due to unpredictable instances of over-voltage. BatteryBhai has a range of high quality digital voltage stabilizers from Microtek to suit your needs. You can pay using credit card, debit card, net banking and cash on delivery.

Forget about anything that looks like a voltage stabilizer or called themselve voltage stabilizer.

Those where just little capacitors Inductors and Resistors banks.

Sim Lim Square would quote you $5 for a pack of these component.

What it claims : stabilize your voltage when you drive or uses high ampere current if you use your audio or headlights etc.

What it really meant : Buy me. I need your money.

What I will tell you, the hard fact :

Listen ...

Those capacitors, in analog system, yes, they will cancel out and smooth down those noise and ripples in a electrical circuit.

You say, then ya .. what the FXXk you talking about then, TerenceChan ?

Well, if you may be aware of, an accumulator, is a capacitor. A battery is a giant accumulator. It is a giant capacitor that was already installed in your car anyway.

If your giant car battery couldn't handle that kind of storage charge and capacity, do you really think those 4 pieces of silver color thing in those voltage stabilizer would help at all ?

Correct me if I am wrong.

I know I am never always right, but I am never wrong about this.

Bro since you're inclined to DIY, may I suggest you go DIY a battery De-sulphator it would help you out more in the long run and it cost about the same or even less.

More people should find out what this device does and how it helps the motorist and why its the information all battery shop keep hidden from the consumer ;P

i have met Mongater personally a few years back. that time, i passed him an "enhanced" version of EZ-Stab to play with. this EZ-Stab was once touted as the must-have stuff from some folks of the now defunct Toyota Club Singapore. the rest is history.  :D

he did build a DIY desulphator at a fraction of the price of what retailers have been charging.  [lipsrsealed]

Don't waste your time with diy desulphator... those pulsing type.

The one that works is simply a 15.8Vdc power supply.

Charge and watch the sulphate dissolved by checking with hydrometer regularly.

A VS probably gives instant relieve.

A desulfator probably is the long term cure.

[cool]

To complicate things a bit, best is to use a matching VS and periodically remove the battery for re-charging.

Voltage stabilizer is seriously a waste of time/money, unless your car is super duper old where all the electrical parts are aging, one can hardly even tell it's there. Don't expect a gain in performance +HP, because it won't.

There are people who believes in capacitors.

There are people who believes in magnetic rings, magic stones.

Nothing can change their minds. Don't bother.
