Karsoon Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 Looks like you have a serious damaged paint work with substained water marks. I will suggest you go to those professional groomers to do a polish by machine. This will help.
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Author Share September 7, 2004 sigh... that's what i fear... maybe try the free polishing service i got from my dad-in-law for one of those shopping centre polisher an dif that fails, maybe glare since there is a 50% off promo from DBS Esso
Karsoon Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 Ok then. all the best. Do post ur end results after the polish. Hope everything will be swee swee for u.

Assassin Clutched September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 Hi Mojoe, Like what Karsoon said....looks like you might have to bring itto the professional groomers to take a look at it liao. If you still want to DIY some more....you can try applying 3M SMR a few more times, or if you have some other polish, you can try that as well. Cheers
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Author Share September 7, 2004 the worse thing is i polish till swee swee... just that the water marks are bugging me... maybe i added too many layers of sealant? will try to claybar a few more times and then use the white vinegar and then 3M SMR first... don/t wanna spend that extra on polishing yet coz yet to get rid of the scratches
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Author Share September 7, 2004 sigh... the woes of dark coloured cars..
Sapience Clutched September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 me too... i have this problem, even after claybar and klasse. the car seems to be shiny but under a certain angle of light, you can see the outer rings of water marks...
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Author Share September 7, 2004 sigh.. mine also... shiny but with the rings on it.. maybe will try to really strip the sealants and wax down to the bare bone... but the thought of spending one whole day on it.. Assassin Clutched September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 IF you really want to DIY... and IF you have the time to strip off the area of sealant etc...try this: - Wash the affected area with diluted dishwashing liquid, this will strip off the sealant etc on the paintwork, you will feel that the area will be "squeaky" when you run your fingers over the area - Clay bar the area with diluted car shampoo or quick detailer - Dry the area - Use 3M SMR or polish to remove the water marks over that area, you might have to apply it a few times (if the marks are still there, then have to bring for professional treatment liao) - Wash and dry the area - Apply sealant over the affected area to protect it Cheers
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 7, 2004 Author Share September 7, 2004 dishwashing liquid ah? trying to avoid affecting the side leh.. afraid it'll strip those side panels as well
Leonknapp Clutched September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 U can skip the dishwashing liquid as the vinegar is much more powerful already. Looking at ur situation a professional is a must. dont try to much or u may just damage ur car paint. cheers!
Reliable Clutched September 7, 2004 Share September 7, 2004 i think the same too. vinegar should be more power already. if still cant then go and pay the pro a visit such as glare. and also pay the amt hehe. Money will solve ur problem.
Nivlac Neutral Newbie September 8, 2004 Share September 8, 2004 when we go to pros like glare... after the one-time polish and wax... how long does the smooth smooth feeling last? I know the shine last for a really long time but I am more concern abt the smooth smooth paint work... cos car is white not much shine anyway. Anyone here done glare or anyting similar? care to comment? Cheers
Assassin Clutched September 8, 2004 Share September 8, 2004 Like what the rest said...if all else [including dishwashing liquid and vinegar] fails... go to the pros. ↡ Advertisement
