Recently went down to the Mit. showroom @ leng kee..

well, this sales exec told me that the basic model

is at 64988.. but because i'm not sure whether my

application will be approved or not, i asked her

to propose a loan for me first.. fews days later..

she told me that it was approved with 60689. I will

have to down a 4299..

 

can someone pls advise me whether should i take up this

vehicle? I don't mind the down as it was within my budget..

furthermore, i can choose 3 options out of 8 in that

Mit. Mania 2004 promotion...

 

should i?

Yeah.. Basic manual is $62.

 

You'll be better off with the manual Vios which is only $59388 now. Comes with 4 disc and 2 SRS some more.. And what abt the VVTi engine?

 

Only plus point of Lancer is that it feels more like a car, and you can put an entire set of golf clubs in the boot and still have space for more.

Hello..

 

I just booked the basic CVT model last saturday. AFter looking around and considering the budget, went back to lancer. This will be my 3rd Lancer :)=.

 

But of course, thats alot of loan that u're taking, will be paying approx. 9240 in 7 years. I dun think thats a wise decision. U should save up for a while to pay for the downpayment.

 

Now, u should chose the 3K cash rebate instead of the 3 options. trust me its more worthit. If u really wan, u can just top up 2K for leather seats, Reverse sensor , 15" Rims and multidisk player.

 

My SE that attended to me gave me additional rike cool and additional cash discount. If u wan, I can recommend her to u.

2 cents' worth:

 

I drove my sister's Lancer Cedia Auto for around 2 months (crossover car from my old to my new ride). During slopes on the expressway, i always felt clutch slip feeling from the CVT gearbox. So i didn't shortlist the Colt or Lancer during the selection of my next car.

Yep. I must admit that Lancer is a family car. I dun expect a Evo performance. I'm just going for a spacious, relatively cheap, japan made, looks nice, smooth in gear change and sporting (outlook) car to drive for another 5 years. May go for sound proofing after I get my ride.

The driving should be about the same between various lancer generation, between mid-1993 model and the present ones. My mum had owned all the models from 1993-2002, except the current one (which I had test drove a few times). Drive and feel similiar.

yeah, pal. i agree the lancer is a car for point A to B. wat color did u choose ?

 

my frd is looking ard for a car and cant seem to decide on which. on current prices, lancer is really value for money. tt kind of price for a 1.6 jap car, i think it has no competition.

wow.. did ur mom experience any prob with the auto gears ? heard from frds MIT autos are a big headache....

No problem with the auto trans. Only 'major' problems were wheel bearing, drive shaft and aircon compressor. Her other complaint is that the engine was rough.

Yeah, must admit that the lancer is very sporty looking esp if it is in black, with or without body kit and gun metal rims

 

Btw, I was thinking of sound proofing my car too but dunno whether putting on sound insulation materials on the underside of the bonnet voids the warranty or not. Must ask the engineers during the 5K servicing.

Ya man... They have the same engine through the generations.. The GLXi has served me very well. Now my manual car fuel comsumption is min 15Km/l .. Haiz.. will suffer abit when I swith to manual.

actually.. I get the understand is really how u drive and mantain the car that matter most. After reviewing most of the cars, there are bond to have some complains on gear boxes (aspecially auto CVT). Just drive with care and change the fluids at the approp. time. Anyways.. Jap cars are meant only to drive MAX 10 years. I think I'll change mine is 5 years.
