Hey, I did this cylinder de-carbonizing today and wow it really works. Engine was smoother and when accelerating, the first 3 gears were pulling really strong. Basically its a really easy and cheap maintenances to DIY.

WARNING: Do not stick the whole hose down and suck up the water too fast, you will blow your engine.

For further infor how to do it pls look into this link provided by one of bobistheoilguy forumer.

So what did you use? My bro had this wild idea of using the Karcher steam cleaner with have and blow high pressure steam mist into the TB or something.

(edited)

I use abt 3 oz acetone mix with 250ml of water.

btw, i tried to spray the mixture through the TB but the noise level of the TB is too loud, even at 1/3 throttle open. So i use the hose from the brake line to intake TB, good vacuum but got to do it nice and slow..

oic, but i think that by adding some sort of solvent may aid in the cleaning process so i add some acetone. Maybe next time, i try using 500ml of water with 12oz of acetone.

Make sure all the water is out of the cylinders. As especially for interference engine configuration, presence of water can cause hydraulic lock resulting in serious damage to valves, con-rod etc. Water will tend to reduce and dilute the amount of oil coating on the cylinder walls. Too much washing will cause cylinder walls and pistons to have metal-to-metal contact - the consequence is loss of compression resulting in loss of HP.

the aftermath is really as u stated smooth acceleration

have to drive with care now and not be 'throttle happy'
