Anyone bought the Magic Jet Power Up System from the Motor Show ?

Cannot resist as they were selling below half price (or so they claim) and with 30 days money back guarantee.

It is suppose to ionize the air from the air box for better effeciency and it claims 25% more power and 15% better FC .... worth a shot and I can return it as long as there is no improvement in either case nod.gif

But if I can get better FC, I will be happy .... the power will be an added bonus for that price. thumbsup.gif

IMHO, I dont think a small card size filter will do much diff in terms of FC and power. Nowadays a lot of "New" products claiming to save fuel and increase power. Too many too name. Since its got money back guarantee, just go for it and try. No harm.

It's retailed at S$188 but selling at $75 during motorshow ... lauch of the product .... even got Simon Yam as spokesperson during a Mazda 6 laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

Don't ask me why magic is so cheap ... I just wanted to give anything a try ... with the fuel price getting higher ... so long as there is money back guarantee if it does not work.

I have installed it today on my car as well as another one on my brother's car. We will be testing it the next 2 weeks or so and will post the result here .... stay tuned gossip.gif

It was selling at $75 at the motorshow .... now I don't know ... maybe still the same ... just a sales gimmick. But if it works ... it will be worth the money.

It's a plastic card (about 3" x 4") that you fit inside the filter box ... easy to DIY .... no modification but a little tricky if you have odd shape inlet like mine Optima ... hope it work ... rolleyes.gif

Just fill up my tank today, result as follows :

1) 4/11/04 - Filled up BP95 = 9.6 km/l (previous fill up SPC92)

2) 7/11/04 - Filled up Esso at 2nd link = 10.2 km/l

3) 13/11/04 - Filled up BP95 = 9.8 km/l

4) 19/11/04 - Filled up BP95 = 9.7 km/l

Add in Magic Jet ... car seems smoother ... my wife agreed. It was reading 101km on my tripmeter.

5) 25/11/04 - Filled up BP95 = 10.5 km/l

Guess what .. it seems to be working thumbsup.gif

Will confirma again next tankful ... just to be sure.

By the way, when I use Esso/Mobil 5000, I can hit average 10 km/l but with BP/SPC it is lesser. But different in FC is less than the discount that SPC is offering (12% compared to 5%) so I stick to BP/SPC until they run out of BP95 unsure.gif

Just check with my brother's ride ... it has a FC meter on the instrument panel ... previously average showing 11l/100lm ... now about 10.5l/100km .. also improvement thumbsup.gif

Hope we are both right about it ... let's wait another week or so before we celebrate sunny.gif

Latest reading after filling up on 29/11/04 - 10.1 km/l .... down from 10.5 km/l ...... thought it is strange.

Thought about my driving habits last tankful ... possible reason ... my car on idle for long periods ... when family in car and went to buy food and 4D laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif ... seriously, idling is not good for FC ... will watch another tankful and see how rolleyes.gif

Also I could not find a position to mount the magic jet properly in my air box ... no flat surface in there ... played around with it a few times .. maybe got some effect on the performance ... will try to revert to initial position again.

But my brother's car is down from 11 l/100km to 10.5 l/100km to 10.2 l/100km .. that is a positive sign.
