Query on P Plate

hi guys i've got my licences last nov 28 and today is nov 28 meaning i can take down my p plate liaoz or i can only take down tomolo???

I took it down on the same day one year later, ie, in your case, my P plate is gone on Nov 28.

By right your probation period should be from 28/11/03 to 27/11/04!

Though I took mine down 8 months in advance coz effectively I have a 3 years australia licence and placing a P plate being able to drive makes me look stupid.

thankz guys for the replys..i thought of taking down coz on the road alot of drivers see u p plate tent to play with u so i thought if can take down might as well take down to safe the trouble from being de siaoed

1. Edge out those who have no respect for P-plate driver. It doesn't mean P-plate drivers are less proficient lot on the road.

 

2. People often thought P-plate drivers are slow and careless by default. I'm seeing more p-plate owners drive big, sporty and new luxury cars. So don't undermine their capabilities lah.

yea agree with u...for the pass few mths keep seeing sports cars with p plate not to mention 7 seaters...

I feel that having the p-plate on does help, most road users do take note and are generally more forgiving shld you make minor mistakes. And they might give you more space when behind you on a steep slope etc..Also no harm in leaving it on mah, better be safe than sorry shld you kena roadblock. Helps also especially if your parking still cmi...Haha at least ppl know you not a long-time driver

1. I beg to differ. Whether intentionally or unintentially experienced drivers tend not to be forgiving to P-plate drivers. I've seen this almost everyday.

 

2. Most do not have the patient to wait for p-plate drivers to overtake or change lane. Some of them purposely horn at them the moment the green traffic light lighted up. Merging lane, worst, some experienced drivers think seniority plays on the road. They expect the p-platers to slow down for them to pass 1st. Else they horn at them!

 

3. Hence, I could understand why some new drivers didn't put up the p-plate.

I tend to think young p-plate drivers are driving big, sporty cars only because they have rich fathers and mothers, not that their driving skill are that good.

 

Also, some of the not so young p-plate drivers are 2nd time drivers who have been banned from driving for few years.

 

Last but not least, some of them are driving around with P-plates because they were just too lazy to remove their childrens' p-plates.

 

However, there are few p-plate drivers out there who are good drivers but the majority of them are still pretty inexperienced drivers that can turn out to be quite a road hazard at times.
