Wankie Clutched December 6, 2004 Share December 6, 2004 Hi all, Anyone knows if i need to go for inspection again if I buy a 2nd hand muffler (LTA approved one with certification) or its just a case of bolt on & keep the cert in the car? Any help much appreciated. Thks! ↡ Advertisement
Jamesgetz 4th Gear December 7, 2004 Share December 7, 2004 suspect u may need to go to the inspection centre to have it certified for your car. better ring the inspection centre to confirm. FYI, the LTA 'certification' is actually a letter which states explicitly the licence plate and owner of the car which has the exhaust installed. the letter is actually car-specific and so may not be transferrable (even it's of the same make and model)
Apollo 1st Gear December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 the cert & muffler must b approved and for ur make and issued by lta for tat car alone.

Jamesgetz 4th Gear December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 FYI, 'certified' exhaust muffler(for eg remus) normally comes with manual and/or documents stating the specs of the exhaust and its compliance with int'l stds and maybe even a warranty card (if the local agent provides it). the surest thing to check that the seller is selling u a certified (2nd hand) exhaust is ask for the LTA letter for the previous car. if not available, the manual/docs with the spec. should be sufficient (assuming u can verify that the manual/docs actually belong to the exhaust muffler) ↡ Advertisement
