IMHO... fogs lights not really necessary in many of Singapore roads except those wu-lu and heavy rainy days.... streets generally quite well lit...[sweatdrop]

really irritating when the driver behind u flash those high beam and fog laps... [cool]

If u believe in grounding, and all the electronic gadgets to improve electric flow then u ought to believe it does.

Agree with a bro here, fog lights are not really necesssary, its more of a comestic and show piece rather than functionality.

IMO, additional lighting does affect FC. Reasons being the alt and battery are working harder to support the equipments, alt loading increase, engine workload increase, fuel increase to support. keyword is additional loading, alt is driven by the engine fan belt just like the air-con compressor, power steering.

Eg, today, most power steering are electrical driven (electro mechanical) save Fuel and engine loading. eg toyota corolla model.

i think it does but probably not significant or visibly different to us.

cos aircon draws a lot of power and it does affect fc...so in theory, anything that draws power does affect fc......however, head lights and fog lamps probably draws quite little power, hence the impact would probably not be significant

Agree, FC affected probably not significant to us.

But for the sake of technical discussion and the theory of it. It does increase on fuel consumption.

Most of the gadgets/devices also based on the theory to improve FC. But the fact is the improvement in the practical sense is only marginal taking into consideration that we do not make too much an effort to convince ourself that the device/gadget we installed work very well.
