Car drift to left hand side if I don't compensate at the stirring wheel.

I just changed my tyres and noticed the above problem.

The stirring wheel will also tilt a little to the left if I let go my hands.

Is this a alignment problem?

the answer to your problem is yes and no..

yes, you may have alignment problem if you did not notice it before you changed yr tyres and travelling on the same stretch of road.

No, you may not have alignment problems as most of singapore roads tend to tilt towards the drainage holes at the pavement.

for me, I'd usually drive on a known straight stretch of road and put the steering wheel straight. If my car drifts, then I know my alignment is out.

I didn't notice it b4 the change.

Initially I felt it along the Eunos stretch of road, just outside Leong Seng.

Once on the PIE, it occured even when I am on lane 1.

Exit from PIE at Delta.

If it is an alignment problem, where can I get it fixed ... and how much thanks

OIC, they quoted 2 front wheels only.

But my problem seem to be front wheel related.

Anyway, have not driven to M'sia b4. Will need a tour guide :)

Seems like many pple have this problem huh. It's been in the forum a number of times. I myself have the problem too. Tire-wear was even, but i still sent the car for alignment anyway. There was no change, thus, i've given up, and learnt to adapt to it.

I have exactly the same problem as you do. I did 4 wheel alignment in Spore and still pull to the left. From the wheel alignment, I realise my camber in the left front is slight off, but less than 1 degree so it is still acceptable. But my ride still pull to the left. Then my friend brings me to Johor and try 4 wheel alignment again. This guy is more experienced, check my toe and camber again, bring my car to a test drive, come back still realise the same problem. Then he switch the front tyres from left to right and right to left. Problem solved. He told me sometimes due to the tyres, even though the threads are identical but there might be still some difference therefore causing the pull. It happen to my brand new (2 weeks old) tyres too. Now I am enjoying my ride once again.

Us a side slip tester to do the adjustment on the toes and then perform test on either wheels. If both wheel show pulling to different side then there is a possibility either the ball joints are loose or one of the wheel bearing is going to retire soon. Sometime even with new wheel bearing on both wheels, and if the bearing pre-loading is not properly loaded, the rid will still pull.

PS if you are using alloy rim make sure the lug nuts are properly seated and torque to specifications
