Jamestan Neutral Newbie December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 Hi to all. I need some advise. I know that this forum may not generate the most neutral replies, but I'm gonna try, anyway. Have been thinking of getting either the Matrix (1.8A) or the Sunny (1.6A). I know both are totally different cars. But, what do the existing drivers of Sunny have to say? Sunny plus points (to me) 1. Smooth engine 2. Common: Spare parts cheap Sunny minus points (again, subjective, to me only) 1. Saloon car... If got hatch / estate sure buy Please be nice hor... Cos I dunno much about cars, except they can move. ↡ Advertisement
Toyo 1st Gear December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 I think u should be able to get some neutral feedback compare to nissan or hyundai forum. seems like u are more incline towards sunny. overall matrix 1.8 should be more expensive taking into considering of the matrix higher rd tax and sunny free maintainance. i dun drive sunny or matrix so can't contribute much. Osiris 1st Gear December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 if your needs is purely estate or hatch kind of car, then matrix will be a better buy. why not the 1.6 matrix? Is that a practical consideration or just styling preference? my ride a sunny so let me know what else u need to know.
Jhoo Neutral Newbie December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 You prefer which one then go for it! If you like it & can afford it, you'll forget about all the flaws, the cost, the resale value, high FC.... I guess each must have a reason for keeping his own ride. For me, I like the looks & thats good enuf! Take the sunny, I think you prefer it?
Toyo 1st Gear December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 1.6 litre matrix is underpower considering it is 1.3 ton unless it's a manual
Osiris 1st Gear December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 ooooh, didn't know that. It doesn't look that heavy.
Toyo 1st Gear December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 korean cars are generally heavier than jap ones. basically the 1.8 matrix looks identical to the 1.6l except for the wording "Revo" at the rear.

Levin Neutral Newbie December 31, 2004 Share December 31, 2004 personal advise. if u realli intend to get a matrix. juz go for the 1.6a dun not go for the 1.8a. matrix is a budget family car. since its a budget family car y still go for the 1.8a? the 1.8a is not realli worthwhile IMHO. no offence to those who bought the 1.8a. y dun u need a 1.8 engine when u only have the same space as the 1.6a? u pare paying for higher taxs, insurance, and petrol every month. Jamestan Neutral Newbie January 12, 2005 Author Share January 12, 2005 Guess what... I decided on a Sunny!!!!!!!! after visiting the showroom AND considering VERY long about the Matrix and Sunny. But, my friend who went with me bought the Matrix... Guess its the best of both worlds... Get 2 cars for the price of 1!!!!!!!!!!! Was actually thinking of Impreza, but with my driving style, TP will be behind my back... (I'm a lousy and impatient driver!) ↡ Advertisement
