Deanchew Neutral Newbie January 23, 2005 Share January 23, 2005 Hello HYDESG, just my 2 cents, I would recommend you change the rear stock speakers first as you would improve the sound tremendously in the bass area more than the door speakers. Trust me, I have my both the doors and rear speakers changed to very good components speakers but the sound from the rear is much better as the doors do not have much internal volume and might rattle if listen loud. You could then change your front speakers when you have accumulated more $ later. BTW, insist on good quality interconnects and speaker cables as well. ↡ Advertisement

Hydesg 1st Gear January 24, 2005 Author Share January 24, 2005 another question the car has only a certain number of limited speaker holes and for component speakers u get the woofer and the tweeter so if all the woofers fill up the holes do i have to separately make a mount to install the tweeters? yes i do notice that most of the sound comes from the rear is that because of poor dampening in the front doors? as the rear speakers are just behind the rear passenger seats which doesnt have much vibrations on the move. i notice that the sound staging is incorrect haha... my right side is softer than the left
Deanchew Neutral Newbie January 24, 2005 Share January 24, 2005 The tweeters have to be installed at the corners next or near the main speakers as there is no cut-out holes for them. The front speakers would never attain the sound compared to the rear as there is no internal volume like a speaker box to produce the bass even if sound dampening is done on the front. Furthermore, the depth of high-powered speakers are normally quite deep and would hinder the movement of the windows as they are moved down. Use the Balance and Fading controls to adjust for the difference in volume. If you install new front speakers, the tweeters could be mounted on the corner of the dash board or the pillars of the front doors. ↡ Advertisement
