another fuel magnet thingy........ sigh....if so good, why not line the whole fuel line with magnets on race cars? then can pit stop later huh? even better if use electromagnetic fuel line!

i've tried fuelmax, fuelsaver and Fuel Maximiser...........shd have saved $$ on real mods ... or better, higher octane gas.....!

[nod] Same same... I also have magnets sticking on my fuel line... Don't seem to do much anywayz... Just need to control ur HRF to become LRF... Sure can save 10% fuel WITHOUT any snake oil installation... [thumbsup][thumbsup]

Currently getting 13km-14km/l for the past 1/2 mth... [drivingcar]

Thanks for the information....hemm...should have stick to my believe, that if it is that good, it will not take the manuafacturers too long to add it into their cars.

Yeah, haha,

Nevere quite believed the magnet thing. If so good, when the petol was leaded, they could have magetised it haha.

I read from the forum and magazines that those magnetic stuff has a risk of affecting the ECU performance.

I have tested another proven solution...easy to implement at no cost...

It helps me to save at ~27% of FC (from 9.2km/lit to ~12km/lit)...

Just be "light footed"...ya la...old joke I know... [sly]

But really...my half tank use to run only 300km...and light footed at ~2k rpm can push it to 400km quite easily (with occasional ramp). In other words, my full tank use to run 450km till warning, now can go to >550km. [:)]

For our rides, try to achieve 60km/h ASAP while maintaining rpm to max 2500, so that the AT is locked in the 4th gear. From there, maintain light pressure on the accelerator to maintain speed. The electronic throttle is v sensitive. The engine can running at the same rpm. However if u depress the accelerator harder, the instantaneos FC can differ as much as 50%. When u lift off ur foot totally from the accelerator (in anticipation of red light or slow traffic ahead), the instantaneous FC is 0l/100km.

BTW what is your best FC to date and cumulative average FC (as shown on your

Hi Koolaba,

Superb car has 5th gear. Hence, when you push it to ~80-100km/h, it is actually at 5th gear liao. You can switch to Tiptronic to see that it is actually at 5th gear.

My FC may be different from yours as I already remap the ECU and with a diverter valve changed up. I only starting to try on light footing recently. Hence, only slight drop in meter 2 reading. However, meter 1 reading can already tell what is the improvement based on half tank data. In the past with abit rush drive, the FC is about 10.8lit/100km at 50% City and 50% HW. With light footing, I believe it can go to about 8.5lit/100km (with occasional ramp).

Hi, does Octavia has a 5th gear? I usually keep my speed at about 90-100km/h. On the trip meter, it typical display 6l/100km. Is this a good FC usage?

I don't think Octavia has a 5th gear. Hence, at 100km/h, your rpm should be ~3k. But I am very surprise that you can achieve 6l/100km. That is about 16.6km/lit. This FC is better than a Toyota Vios I think.

I think 6l/100km is the instantaneous display of FC while travelling at 100km/h rather than the cumulative average FC.

I travel 80 km average per day on highway with occasional HRF, FC is 9.3l/100km. (Best was 8.9l/100km on 18"!)

my best fuel save technique so far is the passport.

as my daily trajet is about 30km, i'd drive for a week or so on full tank before getting to 3/4, then use passport to zip in and out at lunch, filling in 21 L.

[thumbsup]
