It could be the tyres that helps the better mileage. Old tyres are little teenagers firing blanks. Certaintly, the car feels better whenever the aircon load is off, I do that to save fuel whenever I have hard accelerations.

Hi, does Octavia has a 5th gear? I usually keep my speed at about 90-100km/h. On the trip meter, it typical display 6l/100km. Is this a good FC usage?

Octy does have 5th gear... I'm at 5th gear all the time... When road condition allows me too... [:p]

Hello,

Yup, the Superb has 5 forward gears. The 5th will be engaged when the car hits 75km/h and above. The 4th will be engaged once the speed is above 60km/h.

I have achieved 7.8l/100km before, driving from Upper Thomson to Clementi, with strict adherence to the recommended speed limits. It really depends on your right foot [;)]

Actually the saving mainly come on expressway. Driving in city the FC is quite bad even if you light footed.
