Shell V-power or Shell 98 or Shell 95? anyone can tell the diff...i have been topping up my tank with v-power recently from shell 98 change to v-power...now i want to change back to 98...i don't feel much diff between this 2...my friend told me that FC is higher when using V-power....true? comments?

Lucky for you, I am monitoring.

Here's my record, the cost per km travelled from using Shell.

 

Shell 95 = $0.15/km (Pumped 24% of the time)

Shell 98 = $0.14/km (Pumped 59% of the time)

Shell Vpower = $0.13/km (Pumped 17% of the time)

 

Any other bro wanna share?

 

So based on my experience, Yes it's true V power give better mileage

Considering the price gap v-power to 95 and 98 and yet the lower cost/km, it indicated much better mileage you could achieve with v-power

 

I only pumped once v-power for my new car and saw improvement of mileage by 20%. However, at that time I travelled 80% highway (usually 30 highway/70), so not fair comparison.

You sure or not can get so good value or not. Me try the v-power and the 95 and 9.

 

Yes the v-power will give you better mileage nut because it is much more Exp so it will cost you more.

 

My experience is that 95&98(SAME) so pump 95 i can hit 500++km per tank and v-power is about 540 km.

 

But v-power is at least 15cents more exp per liter so not worth it.

 

But the pickup and the noise of the engine is much lower and much sommther But the price high

Actually it differs from cars to cars. Some get better mileage with higher ron, some no diff.

what i see is from shell website, some wrote in the testimonal is that even shell 95 or 98 will give you better milage compared to other petrol from other station... comments?

It's true for my old car and current car. Shell generally gives me better mileage.

 

For my old car, tried all type of Shell Petrol. For the current car, only 95, but started to try a bit of 92 few days ago. The FC is better than Mobil/Esso and SPC.

 

Btw, shell vpower(in M'sia other than in JB) gives me better mileage and power for my old car , but for my new car, it sucks , makes my FC worse.

I experience better mileage with Shell compared to Esso/Mobil. Anyway for V Power, I got lower mileage but better power. Now I am pumping only V Power once a month and on 98 the rest of the time. My mechanic told me that V Power has better additives to provide cleaning and better burning, so use it once a month to clean up the fuel line, injectors, etc.

bro, mine is based on my excel sheet that I kept to monitor my new ride's mileage.

So it is factual based on figures and not gut feel overtime.

Of course it is not a very statistically correct figure because the sample size varies but it is somewhat representative.

I didn't pump other brands except for Caltex 2x cos I have petrol vouchers. For my car Caltex sux.

Only difference is the fuel addictives they put inside their fuel. Generally different brand of petrol have their own different formula (addictives). Fuel addictives generally gives you better mileage, but some say it's bad for the engine.
