If I remember correctly, the Turbo for the Asstrek has a smaller spool, to maximise low end torque. It may difficult to tune it up to Evo7's specs with just chip and exhaust.

hmmm........ then if i can downsize the turbo charger to one with an even smaller spool, i will get even more low end torque???..... [sly]

downsize some more ! later your Asstrex Turbo's pickup slower than my lowly sprung cxxxxxc than you know sly.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

I think the turbo that comes with it is already optimised to suit the Asstrex thumbsup.gif Any downsizing the turbo will be detrimental to the performance of the Asstrex IMO sly.gif

still can improve further what!......... weigh cuts:- replace glass windows with perpex ones, remove rear seats with juz sofa cushions (ie bean bags), replace boot/bonnet covers with kelvar ones, reduce fuel tank size to half, remove entire dashboard, replace sparetyre/jack with 'puncture spray can', replace steering wheel with playstation joystick, drive without shoes, ........... The asstrek may have a smaller turbo (like most LPTs) to achieve faster spool up, I say upgrade the turbo to Ebo 7 size turbo and add a huge downpipe to allow a faster turbo spool up.

Say, why not add anti-lag and spool the turbo while idling? [sly][sweatdrop]

earier you mentioned dun bother with timer unless i go track racing...... how about a quick rush from home to office when the turbo is 'on' for the say 30 minutes journey....??

Unless you floor your asstrek into your parking lot, the turbo should have slowed down enough to shut down immediately.

Usually I'll leave the engine running while I grab my bag, look around for signs of new scratches, dents, birdshit, etc. That'll gimme a good 30secs to 1min of "cool down" for the turbo, so who needs a turbo timer when you're a car lover? [inlove]

U know lah, park my brick, touch here touch there, open bonnet to check fluids and admire the engine [:p]

Bro, if your turbo really "on" for 30 mins, you'll be in Johor, nearing Malacca already!! Had the same concerns as u when i first got my T4. In everyday driving, i've found that maybe turbo timer not really necessary coz so many road hoggers around, you hardly get to whack the car much. Most of the time, very mild boost required only.

hey, you're right:- let's say the turbo will cut in around say 2000 rpm, in 5th gear it will go at about 80kph, in 30 mins it will cover 40km, can reach 2nd link alreadi [laugh][laugh][laugh]

i did the same after parking my previous 850 Turbo in the office carpark every morning:- combed hair, put on socks/shoes, picked up files in the back seat, opened boot to check if sparetyre was still there, walked around car two rounds to check for scratches........ [laugh][laugh]
