Which good HU to get??

its average compared to the rest of the Clarion or alpine HUs la..

 

it has this useless function.. DSO.. for sound stagin.. actually.. all it does for my speakers is just make the sound even sharper.. have to turn it off.. if u on it, u ears will ring when u come out man

Average is better than cheap ones I got. Actually not that bad, JVC only.

i feel that, the amount u pay for a relatively good HU is super high ( ie $800 plus).. with that $$, u can get a very good amp to wack the crap out of ur speakers..

For perfectionist, the output from the source is very impt.. ie they will change the HU as those given by agent is only street standard.

 

Then they will go for Amp and component speakers, soundproofing and capacitors etcs...

 

It really depends on your budget and your expectation from the ICE. Generally, if below $1,000 go for current HU with Amp and changed the speakers...

 

1 good HU can go for up to $1,500 and good 1xamp also about $1,500. ICE enthusiasts will not live with 1 amp for a start. On average about 3 x amp.

Just sampled Clarion DRX9255 and Alpin 7998 / 9855. All these HU are good.

 

But personally i favour Clarion more as there is better fidelity than Alpine. However, Alpine feature are much much better.e.g. MP3, EQ, Time alignment..

 

Unfortunately i never look for things like display, equaliser etc in getting a HU.

 

Not spolit for a choice.

 

Hey............... anyone take a closer look into Pioneer. They have the 9650 and the P9 (i think) which is remarkable..

 

The functions that comes with it is excellent. Had head the 9650 HU on my friend's new car... excellent sound

With that many funtion I think quality wise it can never be better then a HU thats has lesser funtion,

 

Not trying to sayin that more funtion is a losy thing, If you catch this, you can aways use two HU, if you are into the quality of your ICE

Export set has is risk but at the end of the day if youhave done your homework on the selected item you want, I think its OK, there's aways a risk needed for EXPORT set,
