Thug Clutched April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 Jus change my muffer. Straight thru. In malaysia. 500RM includes engine oil, 4inch air hose to air box + installation, straighten exhaust straight thru. Expensive for u?
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 you forgot to add the $500 fine when you're caught by ROV. Even operated ones nowadays will be thoroughly inspected. So you're $500 for installation + $500 fine, you say lei? worth it?
EventH 1st Gear April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 "Even operated ones nowadays will be thoroughly inspected." serious arh ...
Shiyou Neutral Newbie April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 If your car "look stock", why worry? my muffler operated too... sound slightly bassy, but not like those in JB, very loud. Car still on 14" rim and no wings or stickers. Look stock outside. Of course, don't deny, kanna caught pay lor.
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 (edited) ya... I had a friend who kenna. it's very obvious. you smell and listen, you know it's not stock no matter what. so they hauled him back to STA, and the took out his exhaust. lo-behold, weld marks... that wan you can't run. operated, also fail emission test. I also kenna before, but not as troublesome... the ROV stopped me, and hauled me back to STA. nothing wrong with the exhaust, and it was stock (operated), but failed emission test. So, rather than deny and have them take out exhaust, I agree. They were nice enough to let me off the fine, but I had to go back to re-inspect. Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 kenna caught, you not only pay the fine, but also have to fit back your stock exhaust, and go back for inspection all over again. time wasting...
Biohazard 1st Gear April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 Actually i would rather put my $$ one wif LTA cert for another 20-30% more
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 (edited) 20-30% more what? bhp? no lah... not possible for just exhaust. but you're right. I'd rather pay more for peace of mind, pride and satisfaction. Edited April 19, 2005 by Littleblackalfa
Biohazard 1st Gear April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 Of coz 20-30% more of that $500 loh And at least u get real improvement which i dun think u can get from an operated one
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 whahahah... sorry. misunderstood you. ya... approved mufflers are great. They're a bit more ex, but at least they actually work. Mine is LOUD, mean, and 12bhp extra... and my car at full throttle sounds like a DTM car, only softer (it's a DTM exhaust) heheheh... Best bit, it's LEGAL. Once I was at a road block, one TP wanted to pull me over. His colleague saw my car, walked behind, saw the Novitec label, and said: "this one confirm cleared lah... let him go..." Should have seen the look of the Civic and WRX drivers stopped there who got caught when I blasted off... Heh.
EventH 1st Gear April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 I see .... lucky for my auto car, not much point in playing with extractors and mufflers.
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie April 20, 2005 Share April 20, 2005 well, that's not entirely true either. Superspring exhausts have a loop back system in their mufflers which maintains backpressure, and yet gives you more power. Might wanna check it out.
