Genie47 1st Gear May 12, 2005 Share May 12, 2005 For the cheapos who don't want to pay more you can use the following: 1. Murphy's Oil Soap. This does not strip out the natural oils from the leather. Just follow instructions. Wipe on, no rinse. 2. For protectant, just use Lemon Pledge Leather. Spray on, wipe. Viola! Frankly, just because it is for car leather seats, the specialist car leather products costs way too much. Just the same with my industry, just because it is for "biotech" or "molecular biology", a simple adhesive tape will cost 10X as much as the same formulated/designed one for household use. Murphy's Oil Soap can be found in Home Fix DIY stores. It is made for wood floors but it can also be used on leather. ↡ Advertisement
Newcarowner Neutral Newbie May 14, 2005 Share May 14, 2005 May I know what if there is a tough stain on the leather seat? Any product in the market that can remove the stain other than visiting the specialist?
Eatnsleep Neutral Newbie August 3, 2005 Share August 3, 2005 I would like to ask the same question as well. I accidentally dripped 1 drop of silver ink onto the black leather, now there is a mark there. I doubt it will go away on its own. How can I remove the stain? Another question, I saw those wipe leather "tissue" packs from DIY shop, has anyone tried the product? Thanks.
Genie47 1st Gear August 3, 2005 Share August 3, 2005 Fabric same problems as leather. If you don't waterproof with with Scotchguard or something, it will not repel water. Same maintenance levels except fabrics might hold on to rancid odors longer.
