Sticky Valves

Other makes do have this problem, just that you've not heard of it. The only common factor with them is using the same brand of fuel and same driving style (constantly low rev and very very light footed). I would think the fuel is more the contributing factor for such problems but everything adds up.

If silicon is common to all oil analysis from Singapore, likely common factor here would be the air.

My buddy have problem with his Aveo after driving some 20,000 km . It idle very badly and had problem starting up. The dealer found that his inlet valves have been fouled up and he has to pay for the repairs ! They say it is because of the fuel he is using and the way he drives. Was told to speed up and open up to ensure that the inlet valves do not get clotted up. Crazy or what ? Who is gonna to pay for the speeding fine ?

Yr friend accidentally pump disel into the fuel tank? cos u say he got 1000 degrees eyesight... [laugh]

Or he forgot to accidentally unlock his fuel cover when he park at multi-carpark or outside that ppl sabo him by pouring some good stuff into the tank?

Guess wat, if u accidentally forget to lock car/or petrol cover still left open, chances there may be some good stuff goes into the fuel tank. [furious]

No! A good opportunity to test the efficacy of AutoRx and Lube Control! idea.gif

Aveo_powered, your sticky valved Aveo friend want to try or not? I buy for him first. He just have to buy the cheapest mineral engine oil around and let it do the cleaning. After all is over, we dump in Lube Control to finally clean everything up. We see if the sticky valve sound disappeared or not. smile.gif Needs 5000km of driving to do it.

Alot of things are swept under the carpet to avoid adverse publicity. What you dun hear dun mean it doesn't exist. Even reputable Jap + Conti makes are not spared, so let alone cheaper and lesser known makes.

Question to ask: "Is the cup half-full or half-empty?"

Yes, everybody complains about it. Ian, Ken4, me and so many other Singaporean UOAs all got very high silicon in the air. That is why all this rave to change to K&N is worrisome. Stock filter already trying to cope and using K&N is going to help? shakehead.gif

Anyway, some photographers I spoke to say something similar. Take picture in Singapore usually more blur than take picture in the US. Pictures taken outdoors in the US is very clear. Gee! What are we breathing everyday? unsure.gif

Like that good. I change every 10k also got high silicon number. Air is very bad here. Dunno which desert is all this sand is coming from. Ken4 changes every 10k. I also do the same. BTW, the US guys change every 20k or more. I have seen their pictures. Their air filter very clean even after 10k. Must be the mountain air or something.
