Paint Droppings: HELP!!

i found some white paint (some 5x3mm) after parking in a newly painted multi-storey carpark

 

anyway i can clean it up without damaging my black corolla?? very tempted to use thinner.. someone recommended using detailing clay.. but i am not sure

Think this should go to the "Detailing" forum, you'll probably get more and better responses there..

 

Is there an existing layer of wax or paint protection?

This would make cleanup alot simpler, because the whole stain may just come off with detailing claybar..

 

Suggest trying the following:

1. Using Good quality Microfiber / 100% cotton cloth that will not scratch, wipe with car shampoo and water to see if paint is water soluble and remove as much as possible.

2. Try Klasse AIO if you have it.

3. Claybar - Try this after cleaning the area, v. good for small paint marks / specks . If the paint is too thick to be removed by claybar, proceed with 3&4 cautiously .

4. Use a very minimal amount of turpentine to remove as much paint as possible without touching the car surface.

5. If turpentine doesn't dissolve the paint, step up to thinner and follow the same precautions such taping the surrounding area.

6. Scratch-X - Mild abrasive to rub off excess paint if claybar fails.

7. Clean the area with shampoo and wax it!

 

The claybar and scratch-x can be found in auto-accessories shops like Autobacs, Stamford Tyre Megamarts and DIY shops like Homefix.

oops! sorry this is supposed to be in the Detailing forum, hope i haven't disturbed anyone..if only i can move this topic..

 

ThankS HOSCH! I've finally done it.. i used thinner... lots of it and was lucky it cause only minor spots.. nothing i can't cover with a good wax over

the first spot took almost 15min as i thought i won't come off, while being cautious that the thinner may eat into the black surface... the white spots have been there for almost 1week and parked under hot sun on somedays .. i kept rubbing over the white paint and it slowly came off.. i've to keep re-wetting the cloth i'm using with thinner a few times as it keep drying up.. once the first one its done, the rest was easy as i go over the rest of the 3 more spots now my car is shinning like new

most likely to b emulsion paint. just dilution vinegar n clean off. do it when the car body is cooled down. best if u dap a tissue paper n let it sit over the spot for a while den pick out. dun rub.

 

after which, use a clean cloth n "Polish" off

hmm.. u made me went back to take another look at those spots again

.... nope.. as said, it did nothing to my black paint... only minor spots (since the paint has been dried over the hot sun a few days, you can't expect perfection).. i think my wax over these spots made them less noticable...
